The card doesn't interfere with the minion dropping, I've seen them both appear in the chest twice now.
I assume it's the same for the coffin lid but I've never seen that drop at all.
The devs should just remove this special rule for card drop and just use the standard rule.
You can get it or not by random directly into the inventory, even if someone else in the group already get it at the end of the content.
Why have the VA card to be special? Why do it need a own rule how it drop? It is the only card we have to roll for it.
Not being able to need on a card if you already have it seems logical. It also seems logical that I shouldn't be able to buy a minion that I already have. I don't see why this isn't the norm.
I've found most people that roll on dungeon cards are only doing it for completion. Most don't actually play TT. The people that actively do play TT probably already have it, or better cards.
Trying to collect all the TTT cards is on of my 'things' in the game, and to be honest, it's motivated me to do content that I'd never normally want to, and become a better player in dungeon content then I would have been otherwise by giving me a reason to dive in and practice more.
I'm not thrilled by the RNG drop rate of dungeon cards to start with. Considering that you spend a chunk of an hour to get ONE shot at a card dropping its cruddy vs beating an NPC for a drop chance. But its how it is. Echidna being a 24 man RNG lot fest was no fun. But I won it after a a few dozen runs. Honestly not worse then some straight up drops. Just ones LOSSES are visible as opposed to invisible no drops. And that makes it seem worse.
Once getting a group to do the Void Arc becomes hard then this card will be a real pain for collectors. Hopefully they will shift it to an NPC like all the 2.0 cards were.
Personally, I'd like a way to just disable receiving all triple triad cards. I hate that they fill up my inv and I need to go sell them to Gold Saucer - would love to just block receiving them.
