After doing a dungeon, careful, had a monk/drg on my arse in threat even sitting in tanking stance, if you try to tank in dps stance they will rip off the mob like its nothing.

Random question, the new gears will be meldable but will they have their main stat capped or not?
If they are capped like HQ crafted gear had, you will be able to put a STR materia and all your accessory and this will help a little.
If not... just ignore me XD
Just to be sure then we should without a doubt reassign all bonus stats to VIT then.
We know from interviews that they said that you wouldn't be able to overmeld main stats, but does this also stop secondary stat materia melding on these pieces (and, in that case, wouldn't it theoretically allow us to min-max more thoroughly on crafted equipment that might not have this restriction)?
Regardless, due to the melds, I'm going to be working to get GSM to 50 ASAP once I've completed MSQ, Hildy, the new dungeons, and gotten my feet wet in Alexander: Midas.
WAR got screwed over by this patch in a big, big way. I don't understand how people could fail to realize that our high damage output directly translated to the restoration of lost health, as compensation for our overall lower defense. It's not the 7-8k Fell Cleaves I'm going to miss; it's the 3-4k Inner Beasts and 1k Storm's Path that kept me standing.
Rather than refine DRK and PLD to operate in their areas as well as WAR previously did, they decided to beat us down.
Long and short of it is, I'm switching over to SMN as my main.
