Thoughs on removing cross class skills and adding 5 new skills for each job come 4.0?

No swiftcast on healer can be sort of adjust...
Like giving a trait on lightspeed to make ascent 2,5sec cast time
Same for whm PoM
And give the SCH raise to the fairy !
=> but smn would lost it...

And no cleric stance means... No healer DPS except for whm XD
Or creating similar skill for both healer

Could be done... But I really don't want to see that XD

Hmm I don't know. 3 min sounds about right. It wouldn't be instant - basically have the fairy take her time to cast it - maybe double a normal raise - that means for 14-15s a sch will actually need to be doing some healing instead of all out DPSing ;P It would be usable as a first raise and as an in between healing raise during mechanics heavy runs imho. Not balanced as a primary rez.

No. One thing what makes FF14 stand out in the mmo crowd is the ability to level every job on one character. Cross class skills serve as some what of a motivation for PC's to use said feature. So, no, no.

Speaking strictly from a tank perspective, this would require a rework of the lower level skills too. WAR/DRK could not survive until new content without provoke, and going into anything with level sync would lose a vital ability (although why it wasn't just on all tank classes by default is beyond me, just like there's no need to cross class raise for a healer - it would open up much more interesting cross classes IMO).

Personally, I think the idea of either replacement skills or traits is best. Traits would, IMO be better, as they would allow for improvements to be made to specific skills without needing to swap abilities around based on whether you are doing synced content or not.

Dont need to remove them if they itend to give the classes more buffs you can add the effect of the crossclassskills to the new buffs aslong you have same as crossclass selected.
And instead of new 5 skills add some job passives that change the playstyle a little, like for meeles that your combo starter give your next skill the effect to do full potency regardless of the combo.
Or crits autohits have the chance to give a buff that let you ignor positionals for some seconds.

Im trying to say this in a nice way. But I think its a terrible idea. Have SE go to the trouble of doing all that work just to give us abilities we already have, and honestly works completely fine at the moment (speaking from tank perspective, ive played PLD and WAR and am quite happy with how it works). I would much prefer SE (hopefully) puts more time in to needed things like stop recycling content, give us better raids, dungeons etc the list could go on for 4.0 then spend the time fixing something that isnt broken. Sure youve all heard the saying there.

I'm still surprised they dropped the ball so hard in HW not making any new skills crossclassable.

It would've added variation if different combinations of 5 skills could remain competitive, and it would've given incentive to level multiple jobs adding to potential playtime. I was so sure they'd have done this I took some jobs from 34 (42 in the case of mnk) to 50 before 3.0. And I'm not annoyed because I did that extra work that ended up fruitless, just still baffled at the design decision. Your complaint isn't new; people have said there's not enough good crossclass skills for a lot of jobs for a long time, and making HW skills fill that niche would've just made perfect sense. Oh well.
