Given that TW is a self-target, I'm not really sure how boss immunity plays into it.

Its more the various debuffs being immune to being cleansed by character abilities. Tempered Will and Elusive Jump are basically cleanses that only effect Bind/Heavy.

Ah. I wasn't referring to the cleanse effect, as I don't see that as the primary function. TW is the only way to negate knockback/draw-in effects without a target present on the battlefield. Everyone else is in for some sliding.

You still have some knockback that can bypass Tempered Will
