Curious on new Graphical Engine

Basicly FFXIV is using a modified version of Luminous, since Luminous is designed for consoles.

Oh, I was just referring to your second part. Sorry, should've clarified that! FFXIV won't be using Luminous, so it wouldn't be the first game to fully use Luminous. :P

They have other MMO coming up i thought it was going to use luminos maybe?

As stated before, in for instance Gamerescape's interview, the luminous isn't intended for MMO's. Though FFXIV uses a rebuilt version of it. They mentioned they want it to be able to display up towards 400 characters simultaneously, which would be quite impressive, I have to say.

The Luminous engine is designed for single player RPG's, most likely Final Fantasy 15+, it isn't made for MMO's which is why they're customizing a seperate version of it for FFXIV.

It's obvious that to get a game out by next year they are just going to rework Crystal Tools.

Did you not read the part thats been posted? Why the hell would the Dev team alter and reuse the game engine thats holding this game back?....

They've already said they're working with the people who designed the Luminous engine to customize their own version of Luminous for FFXIV

Software DX11 requirement with lower hardware requirement (fallbacks) is unlikely too, because there are also still people running Windows XP, which won't get anything newer than DX9. The official requirements for FFXIV as it exists now includes Windows XP.

Doesn't matter really Direct X11 is backward compatible, its not a requirement in any game, not that it matters they aren't using it at least for the short term.
