I just love the Scholars that stoneskin the entire party and proceed to NOT ONCE ADLO/SUCCOR THE TANK PREPULL. Sch's honestly shouldnt even have stoneskin on their bar once u reach 60.
Firstly, Succor before a pull sounds like it would be completely useless because 99% of the time only the tank will initially take damage. I like to apply Stoneskins just as a mob is about to die to save time, and around 90% of the time cannot apply Adlo because the tanks seem to always be running for their lives to finish dungeons.
Secondly, not having Stoneskin on your bar would make you a rubbish healer. There have been countless times on A1S that, during the jump, someone has the weakness debuff and they were only able to survive getting a deployed Adlo AND Stoneskin / Sacred Soil. You get EVERY ability for a reason, make it work or just be a sub-par *insert job here*.
It is true there are casual SCHs that think they are WHMs though and never seem to use Adlo pre-pulls and only stoneskin, or using that skill so often you wonder if they even know that Adlo is the de-facto best shield ever. Stoneskin is still good to have to cover weakness debuff situations and they won't survive without more than their weakness HP, and could be used in situations to "heal" where you are in clerics.
Now Succor before the pull was absolutely worth it back in Turn 11 and 13. The party getting hit not long after the pull situations were far-and-between. With Deployment Tactics now, we have a better option.
pls overthink this opinion... at least SCH is a class you can start with lvl 60 and ilvl 180-190 without even beeing in a single dng playing the (main-) heal. im in this situation right now my main class was and will be SMN - i just got my hand on the Unicorn mount lately coming up with a full skilled and geared SCH – without knowing anything about beeing an end-game healer. Im still learning skillmechanics, trying out macros and fairy-management... so back to your point especially on SCHs an ilvl will tell yeah nothing about how well they are used to their class at all...
just sayin' =)

Agreed, and let's assume they aren't comfortable. Well id rather they fail and let me die trying to learn how to DPS. Than to be too scared to try it in fear someone will criticize them for letting them die.
The best people on this planet understand you can't be afraid to make mistakes and learn from them. Someone who's already successful had their fair share of mistakes so don't let their criticisms deter you from improving.
90% of the sch on Moogle maybe, but not everyone plays this way. I'm going to beat a dead horse on this. YOU don't control how other people play, get used to it. A HEALER'S job is to HEAL. Everything else is extra, above and beyond, and should NOT be expected. That doesn't make them "bad" at their job, or lazy, or w/e. If they want to lustrate to burn through their remaining stacks before getting more, more power to them. It's THEIR style, not yours.
Did you throw out some pointer to them, or just seethe silently so you could come on here to have a reason to complain. Were you attempting to give advice while being a salty cod like you are being on here? ADVICE that can either be taken, or ignored, but at least you did more than sit on the forums complaining. But then, you wouldn't be generalizing about all sch, you would be complaining that so and so didn't take your advice. No, you're here saying 90% of all sch suck because you said so. Perhaps it's YOU that should find a new game. People like you are toxic to the community as a whole.
If you afked as a healer for 30 seconds, there would be nothing to come back to. There isn't a single instance in HW content that you can go afk for 30 whole seconds and not have someone die if you're actively fighting something. Low level, sure, you can put the tank on follow and leave until the dungeon is cleared. I know you're just blowing smoke out your arse, but a healer's job makes the party succeed, just like any other role in the group. Same with OP, if you're not actively trying to assist other people in doing a better job, then it's YOU who should feel like trash. Try and help people be better without sounding like you're hot stuff before coming to the forums to belittle people.
You need to get some perspective. If you aren't doing a pre-formed group, you shouldn't expect more than getting through the dungeon with minimal or no deaths. You shouldn't expect a speed run or aggressive play. When you get to 60 and are repeatedly doing level 60 dungeons where everyone appears to be overgeared, then you can expect more, but not before then.
As a healer / tank coming back to the game, I haven't played my classes in over six months. I swap jobs depending on what I feel like running. I have randoms all day long in different dungeons, some are first timers to the dungeon, sometimes it is a pre-formed group just missing one party slot. Its a crap shoot and I only expect people to be civil and helpful if someone says it is their first time or they aren't sure what to do on a boss, etc.
