Something else that will probably happen around that date:

FFXI's final major content update is happening in November too, and given their propensity for the number 11, it wouldn't surprise me to see them try to land that update on the 11th of November.

I still be playing FF14 despite getting Fallout 4. I have so many games that I can invest 100+ hours into, that I just choose one to give most of my attention too and spread whatever is left among a few others. If I want to experience a real grind fest Ill whip out Disagea and go for 100% completion on a save :P

October : Guild Wars 2 Heart of Thorns
November : Wenoblade X

I will unsub FF at that time.

People talk all this doom and gloom like new people aren't joining the game every day (that aren't bots!) to replace the fairweathers who go traipsing off to go do whatever and never return. But guess what... they are! It's when influx no longer keeps up with outflow that there is a problem. This game has not yet reached that point.

(On another note, my FC doesn't retain inactive players beyond a certain point without an explanation as to their absence. Be active, or be gone; there's no point in carrying hundreds of members' dead weight. If they come back and liked their experience with us, they can rejoin. If not, they can always find another FC.)

I find the story to be a lot more immersive. Fallout 3 had 3 different endings ( I think it was 3) depending on what path you chose, also Fallout New Vegas had I think 5 or 6 possible different story lines. FF story was also very good its just linear though. In Fallout you can be a goody two-shoes, an ok kind of person or just pure evil or anything in between, and it will effect the game play. Makes replay value go up as you can go back and take the different paths and see what happens. Thats my draw to it.

This game has pretty bad player community building as it is, and people constantly un-subbing does add to this. I have seen so many 100+ member FC's only ever have 1-10 people online and I lurk through idling people. That's one thing, to me at least, that FFXI did great. Even now i'm still playing with a few old XI friends that I've kept in touch with. How did i meet these people? By playing the game and looking for people to do things with. Now, if i enter a duty finder dungeon, why should I even bother saying hi? I mean yea, manors and all of that good stuff, but the chances of me ever seeing them are so slim to non that it doesn't create any reason to talk. It creates a very "punch in, do work, punch out" type of attitude. This is shown in plenty of threads about healers/tanks complaining about the other one dying because they decided to swordoath/cleric stance the dungeon and not take a few minutes to ask the person if they are new, or check their gear and gauge the situation.

blah blah blah, I just work up and i'm not really sure where my rant is going. TL;DR - Game needs more community building things. Specially things that doesn't get boring after 2 days. (HIRE MORE DEVS!)

Really? Because on my server it's dead and considering Jenova was the ps4 launch server, for it to be dead is a very bad thing. Maybe legacy servers aren't that bad but after that this game is very close to death. The new player joining the game to make up for a player that left isn't gaining subs, it's null. Many new players that you speak of are also Alts that many old players made because of being burnt out by the massive lack of content HW brought to the table. The game has reached that problem you claim it doesn't other wise we wouldn't have the refer a friend program and keep them subbed for months to gain rewards and cash shop. Those are clear signs the game is hurting in the subscription department.
