What's the problem with Paladin?

I was just thinking that maybe one way to fix the lack of dps could be giving Shield Swipe a 6 (?) seconds vulnerability debuff. It could solve the dps problem on PLD without buffing their own dps (specially while in Sword Oath, as Shield Swipe is ideally activated when tanking, thus in Shield Oath), give them a somewhat more used raid utility, and fixing Shield Swipe being lackluster at the moment (it was supposed to be our ultimate lvl 50 skill). It would also give some use to our shield (and to block), the defining trait of the PLD.

The only problem that I see with that is magic damage not being blocked, but oh well...

I'm sorry, but how do you know that healers in those groups don't dps out of habits, or just because they can?
Probably, fully geared in i210 now, tanks are taking far less damage, giving them even more time to dps, because they need to heal even less.
If they dpsed before because it was needed to win, now they may just do it because they want to end the fight faster, to do another one. The faster you do it, the better it is if you're farming.

"Everyone with A4S on farm got their first kill undergeared.

Bosses don't go on farm status after a single kill.

Just started playing pally this past couple weeks. This was the first thing i noticed when leveling. I was totally surprised that no damage AoE ability was present until level 50. Hell the other tanks get AoE abilities at lvl 12, why those would not be cross class able is beyond me. I like the look of paladin, and will continue to play it. I however do not raid savage, so that's probably best for me.
Seriously, just my mind was blown that there were no AoE dps spells before level 50, and then the one at 50 has a medium CD.

If i was to redesign the spell: 5 second CD, and uses mana. That way it would balance out the quicker recasts, Potency of 175, and learned at lvl 20

My complaint with PLD is how boring it is. I don't do savage content so I can't comment on the dps debate, but when running Expert Roulettes I almost fall into a trance just doing my basic rotation. By comparison I'm leveling up WRD and I'm only at lvl 42 but it's already more interesting to play.

nothing outside of personal preference imo. Except its rotation is bring to me and its defensive utility needs to be more party-centric. When I first saw Shelltron in the HW benchmark trailer I was excited as it looked like he blocked a magic move but man was I wrong. They need to fix Clemency's mp cost and give a shorter cooldown on some skills like Tempered Will and Divine Veil which I feel are too long for the effect they provide. They also need to change Cover to block all damage or change the name to Deflect which is really what it does. Deflect physical damage but still lets magic go through.

Also they really need to change the effect of Hallowed Ground to start at the beginning of the animation instead of at the end. Nothing pisses me off more than using HG and dying because I was in the middle of the animation.

They won't fix Benediction either and it also suffers animation delay.

We get to deal with it.

Coming out of WoW and many MMOs it was among the first things I noticed too. And it was way worse in 2.0. So bad that I lost interest in the game at 20 altogether, until 2.2. Only to find out Paladin is still. .. .UGH!

My first Garuda run was the final straw in 2.2, as we wiped out for over an hour because nobody could kill the plumes fast enough. Wouldn't happen if someone AoE'd, but the monks won't, the sch didn't have time, and I couldn't. So I went to warrior and everything was infinitely better. I still keep my paladin at end game level even though I hate it.

If anything I think gore blade would be better off as an AoE or if CoS was learned at a much earlier point than 50 . . . .. Or if we got a circle slash.

OMG that is one of the single most frustrating things in this game! The delays!! I can't count how many times I Holmgang and was killed before the delayed effect took effect only be stuck with it on cool down and dead.
