Why are DPS so upset about tanks coming close to their DPS?

The DPS always complain the most in every game. Let them complain, who cares. In a progression static, the goal of all the members of the group is to clear the content. No one complains that their tanks are now able to help output the DPS needed to clear the content in that context in a static.

Even with abilities, i160 synced tanks have like <25k eHP, a lot less than a healer without their almighty cleric stance everyone whined about till that got nerfed smh. No need for dps stances to be banned.

Please read the post. I'm not calling for them to be banned. I'm only saying that if they actually became a concern, that's probably how they would deal with it.

If you were said DPS in my group, you won't hear it from me, but my FC and friendly LS will. lol

Though I make it sound like a complaint "Darn it, I get another group where the second top DPS is 300 below me... And I'm the tank! LOL"

Inversely, I WILL ask the tank to his/her face why he lost aggro to a SMN if I do manage to steal aggro.

I don't see this as a problem. If tanks are maintaining high dps it doesn't prevent the dps from doing their job, which is usually maintaining high dps and killing adds.

Healers are another story though. Neverreap and A4 come to mind. In neverreap, Assize can kill 2 waves of adds on the first boss. In A4 as a healer, it is rare if I don't end up soloing a doll. Granted, I think it makes the healing role more fun and interesting, but would definitely understand if a dps had a problem with it.

In my FC, we just go 1 healer, 1 SMN and 2 random DPS to our daily expert, because it is faster :D
Just having Titan-Egi to tank the bosses, and then have fun with the big pulls, actually giving somewhat of a healing challenge to me as a healer.

So I'd say more if the tanks DPS would even be a problem to begin with (which is it not, a good DPS that is equally geared will get quite ahead), it is more that the content outside of Savage doesnt hit hard enough, allowing the tanks to actually go DPS instead of having to fully focus on tanking.
But it is also early into the expansion, I am sure withing a few major patches, there will be some dungeons where the tank has to do more tanking, and less DPSing.


Just remember the difference between Brayflox's Longstop (Hard), where you did the dungeon in 3 big pulls, and then the next set of dungeons, you had The Stone Vigil (Hard). Sure, you could still do somewhat big pulls if you had really good people with proper gear, but nowhere near as big as Longstop, and not with PuGs.

For now, just enjoy that we can speed up the two only dungeons we are force to run oh so many times, because it will likely take longer time to run the future 2 dungeons we will have to do so many times.

I really don't care if they are close to my DPS.

Tanks are not close to DPS. A lot of DPS are just terrible whereas tanks cannot be terrible or they don't hold aggro, so naturally their rotations are better.
