On both of my PCs with ATI's I've yet to crash. There does indeed seem to be some improvements, or rather optimizations given the 30/60 FPS switch -- This means they have been actually working on the engine because this and last patch were paying close attention to the core of the game as well as content relation.
Had to +1 this statement, made me genuinely laugh.
I also noticed the very slight improved performance post 1.19 patch. However I had my NVIDIA driver crash on me today and FFXIV crash on me again after using the Return command to go back to Uldah. Not sure if they're related in any way to the patch, but it's the first time it's crashed since 1.17 for me.
Looks the same to be but again im not playing on the highest on my crappy overclocked 8400 GS :s.
Whatever the case, the game has been running much much smoother for me.
I don't see a difference in the quality of the graphics but when the game is set to 30 fps it runs so very much smoother now. That is not to be denied on my machine. Only weird thing is with general drawing quality set to 9 the game fps drops to literally 1 fps when I start to teleport. The its the actual animation that is doing it.
Buttery smooth other than that, with msaa 8, all other ffconfig settings set to highest, but no ao or dof. I would say it's the frame limiter alone that is providing the improvements, and but with the whole teleport thing and other people getting crashing issues wouldn't that point to some changes to the graphics coding?
