Thank you Dzian :) That really helped clear things up. I didn't even realize you could just pick slot 6 without Toll. I'm literally smiling right now!!! Thank you for the example provided as well :)

Toil is really only used when you are visiting a node for the first time, and do not know what is where. After that, you are better off saving the GP for something else - King's Yield 2 or Blessed Harvest 2, or for use in increasing the Collectability rating of the item you are gathering, or even just the chances of a successful gather or HQ.
I feel like such a doofus in that I was using Toll each time, when I could've just selected the proper slot the item was in. *Facepalm* LOL, but now I know, and knowing is half the battle!
So FSH really eludes me. I have augmented landmaster right side and the belt and the HQ 3.0 crafted gear for Fisher. My Miner and Botanist are all ilvl200 and maxed out. I can't even get the red scrip Fisher gear though because I can't seem to figure out how to even catch the fish I need for the foil. Is there a rotation? Do I need to meld materia? I'm so confused. Help? xD
You don't need anywhere NEAR max gear to catch Red Scrip fish. However, you DO need to know when and under what circumstances those fish are available to catch. For example, Barreleye fish can only be caught during Thunder weather, and only with the Fish Eyes buff on. Capelin can only be caught in the early morning, from Midnight until 6:00 am game time - and these also require Fish Eyes. Additionally, I'm pretty sure that ALL Red Scrip fish require you to first buy the corresponding Fishing Folklore book; until you do, they are impossible to catch, even if you have all the other factors correct.
Each Red Scrip fish has different gathering conditions, and the game provides few if any clues what those conditions are. You can either use trial and error to figure out what those conditions are for each fish - or do as most fishers do, and look up the answers on the Internet. http://ff14angler.com/ is a marvelous resource for figuring out how to catch each kind of fish.
The Counter foil fish would be the Thunderbolt Eel. at 834 Collectability
Requirements are clear/fair skies between 22:00-04:00 game time.
Can either usie a stonefly nymph to catch a HQ Blue Shrimp and hit mooch.
or catch it direct with a bladed steel jig.
personally cought mine at (X32.9, Y7.4, Z2.3) on a small ledge on the wall of iron feast in the forelands.
i'd say it's a relatively easy catch I got the 6 of them I needed in 2 windows. worst part was waiting for the right weather
patience can help a lot so take a few cordials cos the window is quite small
