This is the best post about bowmage I've seen since the xpac. Thank you Twilite <3

BRD class is mobile and supportive but have weaker dps for 2 years and they change the play-style to a caster and everyone's response is to get good?
1.5s base charge up time on your weaponskills does not make you a mage.
You are right. We are clunky bow wizards.
What's really funny about this whole thing is back in alpha and beta we told the devs it was strange that archers could run and jump around shooting their bow. Sadly a lot of jobs were changed in 3.0 and it's either adapt or find another job to play.
OP, I'm sorry that you dislike Wanderer's Minuet, and I can understand why. I personally do not share the feeling, but that's not to say I don't understand.
Rather, I noticed during the lv. 52 job quest that one of the NPCs makes a comment about "adapting to the situation" and how it's a trait well sought after in a Bard. Call it clever commentary, or perhaps a direct message from the devs hidden in the dialogue, but simply put: Minuet is a new addition. It likely won't go away, however WILL require adaptation to learn to use properly. That doesn't mean you HAVE to like it, and there are still situations where it's more effective NOT to use it, but adapting to it makes all the difference, and I would encourage you and other career Bards to do so.
It personally took me little time/experimentation upon getting it to learn a few of its more subtle nuances. (And in fairness, having leveled MCH prior gave me a fair understanding of it ahead of time.) But the addition is - like all the other additions to the other jobs - a change. Change requires adaptation. And if you consider that casting times are NOT actually something new to Bards (by which I mean the songs), it's more of a conversion than an absolute change. All the same, change requires adaptation. And adaptability is apparently a well-sought trait in a Bard.
From a design perspective I'd be worried as hell with that rationale. It's one thing to have jobs perform the same role and perform comparably. It's another to make jobs mechanically similar. This is not mitigated by pulling the rug from under people with no discussion on it and without it being something directly asked for by the players. As I've said in other threads, this sort of thing doesn't bode well for any job.
