Red Scripts (gathering)

They'll do it slowly. The way you gathered high level things before was to overmeld all your HQ 50 stuff, now there's a progression path. It's gonna take a while, and there's lots of sticker shock involved, but there's a way forward for everyone, whether they be spending 16 hours a day gathering or 1 on their days off.

Rich? Lucky on Melds? I have Perception +6 in the Main and Offhands. Gathering +6 and Perception +6 in everything else. That's pretty much as basic as you get considering 80% of those Melds are a 100% chance. If +6 are too expensive you can use two +3's instead. Even if you stick with 600GP you still have a 95-97% chance to gather on Blue Scrip Nodes with that gear. The gear isn't even expensive when you buy the HQ mats and Craft it yourself or tip someone to craft it for you.

still not sure how u have 650 gathering and gp.. like I said im no where close with the same melds you speak of.

13 Pieces of gear. Add +6 gathering to every piece = +78. Puts you to 652 if your Left Side and Offhand are HQ. GP is a completely different story that requires perfectly melding your accessories; which I don't recommend and is not needed as 600 GP is perfectly fine at the moment; 650 is just a luxury which can be reached easily with Food and a couple melds if you really wanted to.

Gathering classes have had to use in game timers long prior to HW and the blue/red scripts. Timers for unspoiled nodes, fishing for big game fish at certain times of the day and such, that has not changed, just expanded upon.

Well never then because as soon as I started endgame gathering my life was tied to the ingame clock................

Even just going for Adamantite Ore nodes, that time between node pops is short enough that it's pointless to queue up for DR: Expert, or other DR or dungeons that have a risk of taking more than half an hour.

cant do anything other than the gathering go round..

I'm turning to gathering this patch. Not as fast as others, but im at least making gil and mats.
I thought the scripts were supposed to be a longer term alternative compared to melding?

no its 600 gathering 650 perc and 600 gp for folklore it jsut takes 2 swings to unlock

One swing if you have 650+ Gathering. I have 640/664/607, then use cheap food just to get to 650 gathering and I'm good. Can get between 2 and 4 unspoiled red scrips nodes with 95% gathering rate and 2 legendary red scrips nodes with 80% chance. Having all the books for miner and botanist let me get around 48 scrips every eorzean day. More if I proc Discerning Eye or get GP reduction on legendary nodes, less if I miss an attempt.
