I'm not sure about PS3, but I play this game in 3d using Nvidia's 3D Vision and it looks and runs fantastic. (this is all with 3d surround mind you, ie., 3 3D monitors just like in that video.)

nope, nothing to do at all with money :)
However, you can check my name on Wikipedia for the real reason.
This^^ Plus the glasses technology allows for more freedom in the tech and creativity! Few companies are alrdy working with holographics in 3-d space and have some prototypes, as well as sony releasing tv's this fall that makes it so you can play splitscreen on games without seeing the other persons screen and using the full screen yourself. Also just because a tv is 3D ready doesn't mean you HAVE to watch in 3D lol Can switch between the 2 at ANY time >.< Price has also gone waaay down on them as well, you can get 40 inches or above easily for under 1K, high end brands and models! 3D is here to stay whether people like it or not, it's the natural evolution of static imagery. Can't wait to see what 3D evolves into down the road!
Anyways that said sony announced a long time ago they wanted 3d support in and seeing how huge and popular it is (along with the fact that the pc version has awesome 3rd party support of it that works wonders), would imagine it would come to ps3 eventually... even if it takes a few years :P I've personally heard how FF 14 makes one of the best looking 3D games out there for those that have a powerful setup to handle it in full! Would be great to check it out down the road :)
High budget films?
Last film I remember advertising in 3D was Spy Kids...
High budget films, pfft :p
Saying that.... I wanna see Advent Children in 3D. that moment where Sephiroth appears would just be... wow I think I just found the win button @.@
Isn't the 3d fad dead yet? <.<
I remember when I got a graphics card a few months ago that was terrible at running games in a higher res than 1024x768 so i took it back to the shop saying it couldn't render 3D properly. The guy kept looking all over the case and going "it doesn't say anything on here about running in 3D" and I was like "It's a graphics card! It's meant to do 3D!"
It dawned on me afterwards that he was thinking of 3D like 3D T.Vs and I was saying 3D as in a game possessing 3 dimensional objects.
So confusing @.@
Wow, should he be working? sounds like he is about 10 rendering 3d obviously means 3 dimentional objects, he should have atleast said "you mean stereoscopic 3d?" because that is what, i believe, is used for 3d movies and games, it would atleast allow you to make it clearer, because stereoscopic 3d is the normal tech used.
Like... a real 3D hologram (b'.')b
(Yes I will always repeatedly link that video, 'cos it still amazes me XD)
