Examples of gameplay you think is a form of torture. Let's hear 'em!

Well, I don't like the crafting system in XIV, it's really boring and time consuming too and If I could, I wouldn't touch those jobs EVER but since I need to repair my gear I have to level them. T_T

The anima system is another thing that I find useless but it's just my opinion.

Sadly this is kinda true.. I have actually weaved/sewn actual things, like pillows, stuffed animals etc. in less than an hour before ^^;

Crafting, but I haven't even tried crafting since the last update, so I can't say anymore; It's just not really for me in general though.

Well, its rather obvious that most if not all quests in the game that require you to go to crazy places or from city to city expected you to have some mode of transit at your disposal, just for some unknown reason they weren't implemented into the game when they should have been. I still think there was some sort of fatal snag that we haven't heard of that was the cause of this, and is why it took so long to get chocobo's out in the first place.
Like I'm from Uldah and there was mission for the story or soemthing that sent me to Grid, then Drybone, then after you get to Drybone, it tells you to go back to Grid ;V
If I had a chocobo, travel time would have been cut to 1/3rd what it would take to walk there.

XI's endgame. Crap drop rates FTL.

How SE doesn't give us US based servers. Who remembers {English} {No Thanks}?

FFX's "sphere grid" leveling system. What the hell were they smoking when they came up with that idea!!!. Really, exp points on "+100 hp" or "+3 str" etc.

It wasnt the lenght of time it took to actually do some "real" damage which annoyed me the most. It was the stupid way it tried to make all chars be like each other (once you got off the "personal" grid) but they clearly were not. "hey i know, im going to give lulu a boat load of hp and str from these spheres, why the hell not!".

On a nicer note, something I really enjoyed from the FF series was the FFIX ability system. Learning "nul poison" from a weapon or armour was alot of fun, made you reconsider when to change weapon until you have "learned" certain skills

This goes for all Final Fantasy games. I just want a really strong story. A deep storyline. Engaging npc's like the infamous Cid, Biggs, Wedge and all the summons. FFXIV should have them all. Most importantly no linear stuff please!

I completely agree. the Linear feel from the recent FF games is horrible. It's like playing a 3d sonic game

wide scanning for Leaping Lizzy in XI sent me a little insane, after a few hours I kept seeing his name in with all the other lizards even when it wasn't there.

Some pet peeves, in no particular order:
-Random encounters
-The intro to FFXIV...make the beginning way more intriguing. Who the hell would want to play a game with such a boring beginning?? I think it would be cool if they had an intro where you were really high level class and had a lot of cool abilties and you had your tutorial battle in a story-related Echo scene. At the end of the battle you would 'wake' and begin to retrace your steps (kinda like a movie that shows you the end first). Gives people a glance into end game content but also is a tutorial.
-FFXIV Cactuar's 1000 needles
-WoW-like quest grinding
-FFXIV missions...wtf? Where are the XI-like missions? Divine Might, CoP Airship Fight, Bahamut, Promathia, Diabolos fight, etc, etc.
-No LFG mechanic
