Dev, please confirm MCH buffs before Alexander release?

While I can agree with the scaling thing. The core problem with brd is that not only is the dps sub par from what we are being told, but the thing that made brd fun. Is now tossed out the window. *movement dps* 20 percent damage and turns into a clunky blm with less damage to show for it.

If you want brd to be still and mch they should be doing great dps. Support or not.

I've already been refused from three Bismarck EX PF groups today on Balmung just for being a MCH. I don't even particularly feel the class is that horribly underpowered, but something needs to be done to address this forming stigma.

People aren't refusing MCH b/c people 'think' MCH are bad from reading forums / reddit. A majority of players in game don't even come to the forums let alone reddit. They're forming this opinion because of past experiences. You may not feel like MCH is underpowered, but the more I hear from people in game, the more I hear, "Yeah I had MCH in a group, the whole run went slower," "Whenever I dps with a mch I'm pretty much soloing," "We had mch and brds in my party and couldn't meet DPS checks."

That last one is iffy, b/c that could've just been a bad group, but I'm hearing these comments more consistently as people party at 60.

if the fight has a dps race and they take you as a mechanist, they are fighting with a ahndicap, thats just how it is and why people dont want to play you.
Maybe if they knew you, they would put up with it, but you are just a random guy and there is also another random guy that is a summoner, who to pick....

I've done Bismarck EX with my static. Although we haven't cleared it yet, we are meeting DPS checks with killing the chitin in one phase and phase 2 adds. That's not to say that my numbers are far below the DRG, MNK and SMN in the party though...

That's mostly because:

A) The dev team was sure WAR was not broken. They even said "people don't know how to use it". People stopped using them in raid content. Then the buff happened.
B) The dev team overlooked DRG's magic defense because the in-game content was not heavy on such mechanics. With FCOB introduced, with a lot of raid wide magic damage, that problem became truly evident.
C) Summoner started to be rejected from FCOB too. With the expansion some months away, I guess they didn't want to waste time to introduce the changes until then. As they were still working on it. I'm sure that re-balancing a job, even with people's suggestions, is not something that you do in a couple of weeks even.

I'm sure SE now learned that they GOTTA listen to their playerbase, as they are the most efficient way to test the jobs out in every circunstance. My guess is that they'll wait until they can see how they perform in raid content. I hope you guys get your jobs fixed soon!

Thanks for the clarification. In other words, SE waits as long as they can before they fix jobs that have serious problems. They only do it if it is necessary. Well, I wonder what will make MCH fixes necessary. Technically, if parties permit it, low damage can usually be compensated with gear, healer dps, and tank dps with dps accessories.

I fear that this problem could stay under the radar and fester until many players either forget about the problem or worse, accept the problems.

I understand this is a different game, and comparisons with MMOs is just asking to be picked at, but I really wish people could have played FFXI to see how they did support so well before - well, not super great, there were serious problems, but they've done this better before. Just a comparison as to why it's so broken. : /

MCH needs serious adjustments quickly

Well I finally managed to get through Bismarck EX (and I did just fine on DPS), but I get to Ravana only to find so called 'practice' groups pulling this:

This is the new normal and why if MCH is going to get adjustments, it needs them fast.

The unmarked DPS, for reference, is another DRG.


Here's another one not much long after, to show this isn't a fluke. I think I'm just going to catalog instances of this happening within this thread from now on, because it's pretty conclusive proof there is a devleoping wariness in the community about MCH:

While I only have a 38 mch and a 44 brd (or something close to that) I know I can't contribute much, if any input, but this is my two cents. While on one hand I do agree that mch needs a bit of a buff, but more along the lines of higher chance to proc the bonus dmg to their combo or potentially make it a 1,2,3 combo. But at the same time I kind of like the "damn no proc yet", I dunno, I'm weird lol. On the other hand, I do also sort of see why their dmg is lower than the other jobs due to the fact that they are the only "true support" types in the game. So perhaps in order to make them on par with the others they would have to lose their support or nerf the support. As they say, can't have your cake and eat it too. But that's just me.
