Darkside Aura .. hurts my eyes. Can't turn it off.

No way to turn it off... =(

I'm annoyed that it ignores my effect settings. I have them set to show effects for party members only for a reason; there's no reason this effect in particular should be an exception. I don't want a massive light show every time I run past a FATE or a hunt.

Even though I liked your post and I 100% agree with you, keep in mind that Warrior also has an aura that can be seen with battle effects limited. The only difference between the two is that one is constant and the other is not. That being said, the aura NEEDS an option that'll get rid of the animation, please Square :(

Maybe activating it can give a cool edgy 5 second thing. However after that it should GO AWAY FOREVER.

Please. Everywhere I go, people are always bitching and moaning. It's not just this community. People will always look for any excuse to complain, leading to all the damn threads like this one that always results in people bickering with each other left and right. It's one of the reasons why I hate humanity so much and why I'm starting to care less and less about these threads as they pop up. It's also why I consider all of humanity that plays videogames to just be one huge unpleasable fanbase.

I've been playing as a DRK myself a lot since release, and effect doesn't bother me at all, unlike apparently most other people here. The only thing I agree with on the other end is that it SHOULD follow the special effects rules under system and character settings. Kinda silly it doesn't.

Yeesh, what an over-exaggeration. It's not that bad, really. :l Most people seem pretty happy with the game from what I can see. I get the feeling that you're just a grumpy person that can't handle any kind of negativity.

That said I agree with OP. I didn't mind the effect at first but it gets a little overwhelming for me after a while lol. I like flashy effects, but the aura is bigger than the actual character and rather bright for me.

Yeah, the main difference is that you don't see WARs just standing around town with that effect on. It can be annoying, but less so when you only see it during combat. Meanwhile, I counted no fewer than 12 DRKs just standing around the Aetheryte in Ishgard with that aura on the other day. THAT is annoying.

More just sick of seeing arguments everywhere I go. Handling it is a different matter. I'll admit that my heart and thoughts towards humanity has gotten rather... cold over the years, thus me being prone to making such comments. I used to have a more positive attitude about this stuff and would always try to act as a peacekeeper back then. On rare occasions, I still do.

If it helps any, for all my complaints about humanity, especially how they behave on the internet, I've seen plenty of the good things they're capable of too.

On topic, as this slipped my mind in the last post I made, I'd like the aura effect to be closer to the body myself. I don't mind it as is right now, as I said earlier, but I think it'd be cool if it looked like it was coming off the body itself. Someone mentioned that in an earlier post too.

I don't have non-party member effects set at "limited", I have them set to "off" and this particular effect still shows up. That shouldn't happen.

I think it looks awesome! I can see maybe having it power up when in combat instead of idle, a la Dragonball Z super saiyan.
