It's not even launch yet. Though early access has been fairly smooth in comparison to the one nearly two years ago.
But, man, the whinging people do when they have to wait in a queue is hilarious.

If only I could get in queue. Trying to connect to data center just kicks me back out to enter in my credentials again. Been like that since the weekend. I have spent hours trying to long in to no avail. I think the complaints are valid.
Not sure if you are talking to me, but...
I shouldn't have to. Restrictions should be clearly labeled at the point of purchase. Otherwise, it's misleading, and misrepresents the product/service. But, these restrictions are (in)conveniently(?) omitted. Meaning that SE can garner more sales regardless of delivering any benefit to all of their end consumers. It's a gratuitous promise after all, so they can get away with it.
Besides... I did look up the forums, and confirmed that the devs said players can access Ishgard and get the new jobs starting at level 30.
As it stands for me right now, Ishgard & Heavensward is almost another 2-year grind away. I'm like super casual, so... Anyways, I'd like to be able to hit the "refund button" but the terms on PSN say "refunds are not available". So, I'm SoL.
I have been pretty lucky with wow launches. No issues with bc, wotlk, cata, or wod. I was a little late to mop because I was unsure of the whole panda thing.
It takes some persistence to log in(sometimes I get lucky and log on with the first try though), and there is a slight stability issue here and there but it's otherwise fine. I leveled AST to 55 already, so that's something to say about the stability. I remember reading all those doom and gloom prediction posts about how people wont be able to log in for all of early access, that people "must be new to MMOs" if they thought they'd be able to play day one because the servers would be constantly exploding. And once they were able to log on that most people would be locked out of heavensward areas for days due to maps being filled up, etc, etc. Things like that anyway. This launch is not bad, it's handling the heavy traffic as best as it can.
If they were to list every restriction, it would be a long one. Must be this level, must move your character to this location, must be a combat class with proper gear, must have unlocked the duty finder etc... They could have written the main scenario requirement in their own store I guess, but there would still be people complaining if they bought it from another shop. Nevertheless, everyone has access to the expansions official page where it says:
* In order to enjoy the benefits of early access to Heavensward content, you need to be playing FINAL FANTASY XIV: A Realm Reborn and have made sufficient progress in the main scenario.
Other than cleaning my CMD ip cache, yeah it wasn't that bad usually its worse this time it wasn't half bad, I say good job.
I have to agree this is far better. If anything because the game itself is highly polished. I don't know if there have been any intense bugs yet or not but I haven't personally came across any. That's a huge plus these days for games as a whole.
It was pretty clearly stated on quite a few places, including the Early Access page where you enter the code. However, you are correct, it is NOT stated on the actual pre-order page for the game on the SE website, which is an oversight on their part.
That said, they've given you an exp increase in the lower stories so getting to 50 should be much faster now.
