New City Aetheryte shards confusing

Was it my imagination or earlier with ARR wasn't there a dev comment on maybe having a map open up that you could click the aether you wanted (bit like how the major aether work, except for towns instead)? Might want to make that an option as some may prefer the list, but as someone who constantly forgets which gate of nald thal's balls to exit.. visuals would be nice :P.

(Being able to obtain proper name is a good idea though, +1)

I want to click it directly like the big aetheryte.

Only ones that are important is the one for AST and MCH guild and Last Vigil.

This is actually mildly concerning.

If you can't work out from context clues/learn by actually using the Aetherytes which one is which, then you're either lazy or a bit dim, being brutally honest.

They're not confusing at all if you just use your brain ... I never understood why they needed to change the ARR ones either, I couldn't believe that enough people thought it was an issue they actually changed it. I was only confused when they changed them xD

Now, now, there's no reason to insult people. Different people think in different ways. Some people are good with words, some people are better with maps. Plenty of people even find it challenging to read a lot of the words in this game due to reading disabilities, but they press on because they like the story or the feel of the game.

As this was slated to be introduced in ARR literally 2.5 years ago, it isn't such a bad thing to have both options available.

(Edit: Personally, I'm horrible with names, even in the real world. I can tell you very specific and clear instructions on how to get from A to B but ask me for a street name and I'll probably stare at you blankly for 5 minutes while I try to remember and then give up XD)

I worded it badly (it's 8am is my only excuse xP) and was about to edit when you posted =P But I stand by what I said. This feels like pure laziness to me, because even if the names don't have context for you, which I get can happen, you can just memorise them. Which would take me forever as my memory is terrible xD
Kind of what I was trying to get at, this whole renaming thing is unnecessary because there's already more than one way to know which is which and regardless it's only a few seconds worth of inconvenience if you choose the wrong one. But eh, I guess I can deal with a little bit less immersion if it helps some people.

The only aetherite I remember having trouble with was the "Hustings Strip" in Uldah, which was renamed "Chamber of Rule". I guess I always misread the word as "Hustling Strip" which sounds like something related to the pugilist guild or a busy market place. In fact, it was only while typing this that I learned that "Husting" is a word that relates to government assembly. (Thanks Google!)

The lore team can be very creative in naming things in the world, but fast travel really should be about "convenience".

I don't think it's necessary to rename things either but bringing up the map like they were going to will solve a lot of issues, while not damaging immersion too much (I hope!) and giving on screen context to the locations some people will struggle with regardless of what they're called. Hopefully they'll remember that original plan (or my translated quote above will remind them) and they'll do that instead of renaming things.

At this point I just want them to be consistent... I didn't agree with them changing the aetheryte names back in 2.x, but I don't understand why they went back to using the actual place names for some of the Ishgard nodes instead of "Machinists' Guild" and "Astrologians' Guild." Consistency is all I ask for.

the most important ones for me is the Jeweled Crozier and Forgotten Knight. summoning bell, market board, hunt board and seal turn ins.
