Disagree. I enjoy it a lot, listen to it on my Ipod along with my other music. I do, though, have to say some of the music to me doesn't match the world. Like the heavy electric overtone music and there isn't that much super tech all over the game yet. Yes Garlean has the tech that would make the music fit... but not enough Imperial in the game for me yet, but to say the music was badly made I disagree with. Uematsu was told what the premise of each area would be and he wrote to it... sadly, in my opinion, some of the things he was probably told wasn't implemented to compliment his music, therefore making it out of place.Quote:

The other night my fiancee and I were in the same room, each playing games on our PC's. I was playing FFXIV and she was playing Civ V with the music LOUD. I was almost ready to ask her to turn it down when I noticed that the soundtrack in Civ blended marvelously with FFXIV!
Seriously considering buying the soundtrack and playing that in the background while running around Eorza from now on ^^ -

They all suffer from the same problem. They sound low-quality.
Not that I know much about the technical stuff, but the sounds give me a very low-budget vibe.
He wasn't also that good at making truly epic tracks. Promathia music was decent and ToAU's final battle music was so-so but the rest sound just too ordinary. -

FFXII has fantastic field music and nice use of instruments, but I didn't find many of his battle music very appealing.

the problem with putting music in the background is that you then cant here much in game sound affects. Casting spells etc, pretty much cant here anything, and I do like to here the battle sounds affects when in battle, or in dungeons etc.
