Leveling the new jobs in Heavensward

Omg, ppls actualy want to bring mess in class/job order cause they dont know how to learn a class starting at lvl 30 without a game lead them by the hand, funny.
At lvl 50 there is not many skill in this game at every class, what you will got at lvl 30?lol Stop this nonsense, this is easy to handle for everyone who are above age rated by ESRB for this game on low level dungeons where strict rotation is not even required. SE will propably implement some tutorial where all can mash those few skill on dummy if all cant strike dummy at your own without that kind of tutorial -.-

It really is funny that you guys are 100% sure the new jobs aren't starting at level 1 when you are basing that deduction off a translated interview that doesn't give a definitive answer. It's more likely than not that the actual meaning behind what yoshida said is that you can't start the jobs at level 1.

I personally don't mind the new jobs not starting at level 1, but I do hope the level of the new job isn't excessively high either.

If I were to guess, level 15-16 would be a good minimum. This gives players access to Low Level DR immediately and a small skill set base to work with.

It was mentioned in the Massively interview that you would be required to get a class/job to level 30 first before you can unlock a new job. With that in mind, I could see a level 30 Job being available as well, as normally a player cannot begin using the Job until the respective class is level 30. I do hope there is a bit more restriction to this as having a level 30 Archer and getting access to a level 30 Dark Knight would be... problematic for the uninitiated. I would prefer if Dark Knight was unlocked by having a level 30 tank class, Astrologian was unlocked by having a level 30 healer class (specifically CNJ), and Machinist was unlocked by having a level 30 DPS class.

Anything higher seems unnecessary in my opinion. Specifically from the perspective of a new player, if the S-E team does follow through on the "you need a level 30 to unlock the new jobs", it would make no sense to unlock a new job at level 30 then suddenly have a level 40 or 50 to play with. It might make a bit more sense for a veteran player, but I truly hope it doesn't exceed level 30 on unlock.

30 gla 15 mrd for DRK
30 archer 15 lancer for mch
30 conj 15 arc for AST

no base class for the new jobs so my guess is lvl 30

I figure it would start at 30, since it's a 'job'

personally, I would like it at 15 though. that way, you'll have your 'main' few base abilities and CDs, and be able to figure out what your working with and how to use it in the *lolfaceroll* dungeons.

Dark Knight is supposedly heavily Magic Based so it might be GLA 30/THM 15.
Mechanist could be ARC 30/ACN 15 due to pet mechanics.
You are likely right on AST, but it could also be CNJ 30/THM 15.

So somebody could also level up Botanist to 30 and unlock DRK

DRK will not have high Int. Their skills need MP, not magic power.

Black Mage is Int based, but still requires the Dex based Archer to unlock.

Botanist level 30: Unlocked Dark Knight.

FFXI Dark Knight uses Scythe.

Botanist uses scythes.
