any more than 30 seconds and youll overanalyze everything, never able to make a move. youll find every single imperfection and it will be even harder to make a move. if you need more time for the plus rule, then i just feel sorry for you lol. 30 seconds is plenty of time /thread

What would be cool if there was a Speed rule that cut the time limit down to ten seconds.
-
Lost a match I could have won last night because I was doing calculations for Plus, and a random card threw me for a loop. *angry*
But yes, please increase the time limit per turn SE.

There's no reason why there shouldn't be an option to choose from a provided list of possible times at the beginning of each game. There could also be a check box for "always use this time limit". Against NPCs there's absolutely no harm in this and if you still want to play with the current limit then so be it. In player versus player scenarios then a time limit would have to be agreed. If you can't agree then fair enough, don't play one another.
What many people have overlooked is that not everyone has the same mental or physical abilities to play in a meaningful way within a short time limit. By having a fixed, short limit they are being either excluded or put at a significant disadvantage. Surely if there is a way to make everyone feel included it should be implemented.

Time limit is too short... for sure.

I play TT against a friend for our daily 5 most days. He's a far better tactician than I am. I'm better at the quick games; I tend to make better flash decisions and so I win more often, even if I'd prefer to have more time. If he was given the chance to plan out his moves, though? Now THAT would be a challenge. I don't want to play against a truncated opponent for any reason. Speed games have their place, and so do thoughtful, deliberate matches. There is no reason (RE: NONE) to limit options.
I mean, if you can figure all possibilities out in 30 seconds for Plus or similar rules, more power to you. I can't, especially not vs a new opponent, working with new cards, using 3/All Open, etc.
If you don't want to play a longer match of TT against someone, then don't agree to play a longer match. Options to increase time limits do not hurt those who wish to play fast and they help tremendously for those who want to play slow. It's not a compromise. Nobody loses out with more time.

Time limit is fine, it forces you to think fast and not always be able to work out every single combination.
I say keep the timer as it stands, if did add a timer increase rule then that rule should never be used in any NPC battle or tournament/competition but if friends want to use that rule against each other I don't care that much. People make mistakes from time to time due to the timer and getting flustered makes it a lot more fun and more interesting.
-
There is literally zero reason to not give us options for multiple times depending on our personal preference.
-
Isn't modern day chess usually played on a 1 minute timer per move?
Besides, 30 seconds is supposed to be not enough time for MOST people.. and enough time for very few..
If they slowed it down to a level where most people felt comfortable thinking things through, it just wouldn't be very exciting.
In fact, I use chatter as a bluff/distraction while I play my friend, it's fun when it works :)

Please give as an option to have a longer wait time. I love having strategic games of TT.
