The op didn't say "open jobs to all cross class skills" the op said "make it so we can use all of the cross class skills that a job can currently use, instead of only 5 of the 10"

Following the actual suggestion would not grant blm access to blood for blood or internal release.

That said, you either have some issues with reading comprehension, or you are in fact the one trolling.

Seriously look at the contrast between when I pointed out that what you suggested had nothing to do with what was being discussed and your reaction which was to insult the intelligence of other posters with something a non-adult would say, then deny that you completely misunderstood the topic. On topic: I don't see why they couldn't do this. As it is, I only need 3 of my 5 cross-skills anyway, with 4 and 5 being meh. Easy to do and wouldn't break anything, I say: go for it.

I think from now on, if it suits the overall story ingame, as well as can be explained sufficiently as to why there isn't a base Class for a new Job, then I hope the development team choose to omit classes in the future.

That said though, I don't think they can (or should) remove the current classes from the game, as (A) it's too much of a hassle to to re-organise the story, coding, skill balance, etc., and (B) removing classes already ingame would be like another 1.0 to 2.0 kind of a change, which would seem antithetical to the whole "A Realm Reborn" idea.

Also, one reason for not having any more classes introduced into the game would be because it diminishes the possible pool of potential jobs that could be added to the game, making those classes that did get added, just forms more superfluous placeholders with possible cross-class abilities, which would no doubt cause balancing issues.

I don't tend to have high expectations of forums anymore nowadays, but this thread is one prime example of people not reading properly, or failing to understand what they do read.

You're right that most people hopping into this thread seem to have trouble understanding what the OP is saying for some reason, but I don't think it really matters, because what the OP suggests is not really something that should happen. It would be better to have a "shared skill" system than a "cross class" system. For example, GLA and MRD should both unlock Provoke, BLM, SMN, WHM, and SCH should all unlock Swiftcast, etc.

While I personally have no issue leveling every job to max (and have, before 2.0 even started), it isn't super intuitive for newbies. I see healers with poetics gear and no Swiftcast. I've had a WAR in Ultima with no Provoke. It's pretty frustrating. Sure, most of those people will probably be bad no matter what, but probably not all. Why make it harder on them for no reason? Maybe they don't want to play BLM? It's not really a "difficulty" hurdle, it's a "why do I have to level X when I want to play Y" arbitrary limitation.

Wow, I totally misread this thread. First line's a bit confusing, that's what I get for reading at 1 AM. Anyways I guess support? I mean, it's not like it's going to do any harm, as stands there's only like, two, maybe three good cross-class skills for each class anyways, no harm in letting you take 10.
