He is right, though. I would not be Romeo and Juliet. Their story ended in tragedy with both them dying. I would protect both of us from harm till eorzea falls to time. Yes, that might mean others may fall before me in the process. It comes with the strength to protect from any that would wish harm. Ask this gentleman what he would do in such a situation. Would he take down those that would wish you harm? Would he flee, which is not in the nature of a gentleman? If he would stand and fight and take down others to keep you safe, he would show himself as a hypocrite to his very words.

The necessity of protecting loved ones is an admirable trait for sure and I am not one to argue that point. But to paint Iskander as a brute while clearly brutishness is not beneath him, resounds with hypocrisy. Or at the very least, lover beware. What other dark sides may reside beneath the facade of a gentleman?

But for me, I am a bystander, albeit one with an opinion and a care for those who would under take a journey of eternal bonding.
