What I think they should have done is release a standard team deathmatch mode to go aside this slaughter (1 lb per party). As is, with Slaughter independent LBs and the way LB gauge behaves and highs/fevers, this isn't a vanilla TDM mode, it's more aptly named Enraged Mode or something.
Hard to get a proper TDM feel when 75% of a match is wiping to an enraged alliance.
24man on the other hand I really enjoy.
I already knew that the cometeor hotfix wasn't going to fix the lb spam issue as now blms are just using cc before the lbs instead of just throwing them out. I'm starting to think personal lbs aren't doing the slaughter mode any justice, as pre-made groups with voice com or macros can just coordinate when to spam 5 lbs at the same time still, and that doesn't really show any kind of pvp skill, just coordination with lbs (hence why I love 8 v 8 v 8 slaughter at best).
Thus far my two favorites are 72-man Secure and 24-man Slaughter, at least the way the rules all are now. I'd love to see Slaughter back to party-based LB. I mentioned in another thread that it would encourage varied parties again for faster building, I stand by it.
