It's also not unprecedented, fortunately, since low level roulette gives exp that grows for each level (which would equate to rank in PVP), and when you get to level 50 you get a special currency reward in lieu of the experience bonus.
As for the bonus being large and equal for everyone as mentioned 2 posts up- I think it would make sense for it to scale with each rank, same as it does in the challenge log (and same as low level roulette does). With each rank the amount of exp needed to level up increases significantly, and whereas I remember gaining a few levels a day, and then a few levels a week, early on since the amount you get from a single match is independent of rank and more significant at lower ranks, at higher ranks it seems like it took like a week or more to gain a rank. So having a large fixed amount might give a big boost early on, but it would become less and less worthwhile the higher someone was ranked- so like a diminishing returns situation. And giving people a daily exp bonus at level 15 the same amount that people would be given at, say level 40, would be disproportionate one way or another.

If I see a bunch of names I don't recognize I get really worried, but sometimes they're also good players that I just haven't had the fortune of being matched with until then. The main problem I see is just line unwillingness to coordinate from an alliance perspective. You'll have a few people who try really hard to come up with a plan before the match starts, get people to a common objective, but some just wander around doing their own thing. I've had better luck with Secure, because with a party of 8, if at least the majority play as a team I can work with that. There's quite a few names I know now where if I see them in Secure I know we have a good chance... the hard part is rotating the commendations between them and remembering who's turn it is to get one (though almost always goes to a healer if they stick around long enough post-match, they usually deserve it). I cant expect to win every FL match of course, I just want to be on teams that play well. With a good team, even if we get edged out of first it's still possible to have a good time... the bad teams are the ones where I'm like- 'We REALLY need to get these drones that spawn at mid in a minute or we will not win the game'- and no response, the party just goes a lot of different ways to try and farm their kill count I suppose. Or- 'they're fighting at ____'s OP so we need to take the other OP ASAP while underdefended, let's go' and so the party instead goes the opposite direction from me where the other two GC's are fighting, they get killed off, and then I'm left hanging at an OP defended by one person we easily could have taken if more than one person had listened.
Hopefully I will be in some matches tomorrow, maybe I'll see you. If I do Slaughter and its a steamroll, I'll only do Secure the rest of the day. -

Haha we sure are, my slaughter losing streak is over looks like we've got some good Adders playing tonight. You definitely know what you're doing, kept me up when I had battle high and was getting focused. Having good Healers in Slaughter is the difference in success/failure IMO.
The match AFTER the one we were in, half the party I was in got bound which meant LB was probably coming and no one was getting unbinded and I see the Scholar in our party casting Miasma..... Bio II.... and had to use my Purify to escape which I usually save for healers. I said in alliance chat- but didn't name them- Healers should unbind/unsleep bound party members vs cast weak DPS abilities when they don't have Cleric Stance. Their response was something like 'People should attack people attacking healers.' I could have made the point that Scholar DOT's are not effective defensive abilities, but during the heat of battle I figured it wasn't time to debate that with them lol.

Good call I forgot about this! Hoping we get some good PvP stuff with the new patch, my guess would be some nerfs for ranged in slaughter (job specific or through a change in overall slaughter mechanics) and hopefully updated roulette rewards.

After the first "OMG Ranged are so strong" with FLs invaded by ranged only, up to now I don't see anymore this problem, sometimes they have an advantage, sometimes they give easy kill, like in the 24 man frontline, where melee can really rule hard.
