Just always remember that macros can't queue.
@aisustrong Would you be able to make a Ifrit HM video like the one I did? In the interest of non-science, Im wondering if "soft" party targeting actually saves in total button presses, vs my hard targeting.
quite possibly the worst pug ive had of titan but here it is

Well to go with the OP. I don't use any macros for stance dancing. Infact only have 3 macros. All utility - one is for res - just parties the this person is getting resed and the other is for the heal lb - with a massive ping and telling people they are getting a mass res(because you would be surprised how often people get suprised by this) and one for virus to go first <f> then <t>.
As for being pressured into dpsing. If I feel that I can keep the tank up while doing so I will do it... but otherwise I will just sit there and heal and no amount of whining from speedrunners will change that. It's up to each healer individually to know how safe they feel in healing the party. I got a sch friend that will be in cleric stance 99% of the time while keeping even the derpiest tanks alive. Then have a whm friend that will be so nervous that she will have difficulties on a single trash pull.
Ulitmately do what you feel you can handle safely.
Stance Dancing is one of the most funniest things about healing to me. I guess I'm more of a DPS oriented healer. When I see another healer just stand and do nothing it irks the crap out of me. Stance dancing also pushes you to be a better healer in my opinion. Sometimes it's a rush when you see your tank dip to 30% health or less, then you turn off Cleric and bring him/her back up. Your life is in my hands!
