Your derpiest noob moments

I have both Scholar and White Mage leveled, and I switch between them every once in a while depending on mood. One day I had been playing White Mage all day and decided end the night by doing my low level roulette as Scholar instead (yesss, I was planning on being lazy and letting Eos do most of the work), but, karma, by the time the roulette finally popped, pretty late at night now, I actually forgot I'd switched to Scholar. Stoneskin and Protect are in the same place on my bars, and Physick is in the same place as Cure I, so nothing really triggered my very tired brain except thinking "Ugh, I'm really having to spam a lot of cures; did I move Cure II on accident?" We got all the way to the final boss of Stone Vigil where we wiped and one of the DPS FINALLY said "Maybe you should summon the fairy..."

I almost just abandoned ship out of sheer embarrassment.

Played for six months and I had no idea what the heck Eos ment. The whole time I've either called them fairies, Eggi or pets and never noticed the Eos tag above them. I was told to "stand by the Eos" my reply was "Whats Eos mean?" The bad thing this was when I was trying to learn Coil1 T5 on tank.

Aside from that, I'm still trying to find a 1 button solution for swapping between only two action sets on a ps4 controller. Either I'm switching targets once in a while during the back and forth swap or I hit the wrong button on the wrong set and swap shield oath for sword instead of fast blade. My only lingering noob hand-eye coordination.

I dont 100% understand what you are trying to say but:
This might help a little...

Change the trigger option to 'hold' and try playing that way
You can make a third set by holding L2 then R2 or R2 then L2 (I put mounts/maps/minions/PVP actions on this third set)
You can Cycle through mobs by making sure up/down is party only and left/right is enemies only in config.
You can also cycle through mobs by holding L1 + press up/down on DPad

This is off the top of my head and I'm not logged in atm to double check its 100% accurate... but its something!

When healer become tank on ST

Helping a friend clear T5. I decide to go as Bard to help out with Songs. We get to the Snakes. I decide to Repelling Shot the Hygeia for slightly extra damage. I forgot we are up against the firewall. Instant death.

That'd have to be when I was doing Ramuh EX with my FC, were doing extremely well until... Number 1 and 2 got hit by chaotic and I was supposed to free them. Instead of doing so I completely missed them getting Chaotic, people screaming my name on Vent, and then they proceeded to walk into Ramuh's beard of death. Could've gotten him down that attempt but nope. Man, I felt bad once I realized what happened.

Was in Ifrit HM last night. Done it a million times, but this was just one of those rounds that Murphy's Law just hit the ground running (and trampled the party like a raging bull).

It was just the two tanks and myself left standing. We had apparently hit LB3 but I didn't notice. I also didn't notice the 'LB3?' in the chat between eruptions and healing the tanks (and raising every time swiftcast came off CD). Ifrit was down to 1/4 HP... so pretty low.

I could have and should have LB3'd and a.) saved myself the trouble of trying to heal + raise + Erupt/plume dodging (even if it meant taking it to the face), b.) looked awesome.

I did neither :x;; (except constantly raising a DPS in hopes of THEM LBing and killing it ASAP....)

In my defense, I've only ever used healer's LB3 a total of...............twice? for the entirety of FFXIV's beta and launch. o_o It's just not ingrained in me. Only thing I've associated LB3 with is DPS and Tank in Ultima HM xD; (well, three times if you count finding out, waaaaaaay back with the FC, that an archer/bard's LB3 is.... not damage >_> and vowing never to use it on Taiga, again....)

Also, thank you to the bard that was playing Ballad~ (I just couldn't remember which of the two in the party that it was x_x *headdesk when trying to figure out which of the two to commend*)

Ah - another derp.

Helped a newer-player FC mate in Cutters one night. I explained to them 'Violet glowing eyes - go to the CHimera. Blue glowing eyes, move away from them'.
They did awesomely.

I er.... totally ignored everything I had just explained by suddenly tunnel visioning the HP bars and not noticing the glow messages. :3 /noob

"Damn! These DPS are not messing around! They are really close to taking aggro back from me! I should focus more on what I'm doing..."

*Put Shield Oath On, and hope nobody notice*

"Oh... Yeah."

Sprinting to the boss using all my TP. While I was the tank.

Also, in Garuda EX as off-tank. "Ok, time to be pro! Let's switch on and off Defiance".
I have the Defiance button near the Limit Break. You know the rest.
