It's always been "Leave"(way back in the 2009 videos?). "Levie" is just jargon that people who don't care started using.
I read it as it is. Phonetically I mean. 'Cause I'm from Finland.
Been wondering this myself.
Well typically I believe e's after v's are silent. Take example Live and Captive... the last sound is the v when you pronounce these words.
As agreed in multiple posts Levy / Levie is most likely incorrect. (You wouldn't pronounce Live as Livy or Captive as Captivy yeah!?) Besides there's already a word pronounced that way and its spelled Levee.
That comes down to 2 pronunciations:
Lev
Leave (again ve is just v so Leav)
I pronounce it as Lev but thinking about this was also interesting. The word Eve is also pronounced as "eave" which is also another word if I am not mistaken. Leave also follows context as you are taking a leve from the guild and leaving to do the task.
There are however other words that follow the Lev pronunciation such as Shev or any word that ends in that.
Therefor both Lev and Leave would be valid to how the word is actually said, but until we have an ingame cutscene where they actually say the word... I'm still using Lev!
I vote leave ^^
Leave
/pose
I have always pronounced it Lehv as well. Levequest sounds weird as leave-quest and levie or levy just doesn't make any sense. Do you pronounce sense "sensy". Or Mage "Majey"? In the English language an "e" at the end of a word is almost never pronounced fully, it is a modifier for the letter that precedes it. But Lehv and Leave I'm not sure.
To hell with it. I'm just going to call em LQs, then again people will think I'm doing levequests when I'm going to the Liquor Store...
