Cash shop confirmed

You people just want this game to sit in a sad little corner ignored by the MMO world so you can enjoy it all to yourselves, dont you?

Income helps FFXIV. The game we all play(ed). How can you not want this game to do well?

Well if they want to make money to further develop, then since I am paying them too I want them to spend their time developing stuff for everyone and not spend them time that they are already getting paid for, with our money, to charge us more.

We're paying for future content and development already, cash shops are no excuse.

Not pay-to-win yet. However, for many players, having prestigious gear skins or minions is as much a part of "winning" in an MMORPG as some stats and numbers.

In a retail, subscription-based game, a cash shop is essentially just a huge, cynical middle finger to its players. It's an ever-growing list of items that Square Enix is spending their time creating, and very easily could have just put in the base game for players to earn, but instead are only for those they can gouge for an extra few bucks.

The cash shop is linked to the game, it's a part of it, wouldn't be surprised if it got eventually integrated into the game's UI.

Yeah, but you're tying in the Optional "Vanity stuff" as some of the direction of the game. It's not even close to the direction of the game. P2W stuff would be, but not Optional Vanity stuff.

Dunno what the fuss is all about, the cash shop is for items that doesn't affect gameplay at all. To all the people complaining, do you also complain about concession stands in a cinema? You don't have to buy popcorn, you can watch the movie with out without it. Buying popcorn won't change the outcome of the movie.

Because that is precisely what they have done here. You seriously don't see the problem with this? They are cutting content they developed using YOUR SUB and asking people to pay AGAIN for it.
