Faction Gear

I recieved a vintage doublet vest as a leve reward, so they are definitely still there, just not as common it seems.

What about Onion gear? As far as I know that never dropped from chests.

onion gear, like the onion helm, were around since launch, and have little function other than "style". they may have simply decided to make them exclusive to those dedicated enough to farm for them during the first 9 months of ffxiv, lol.

That would be really silly since I have been around since the start of the game and actually playing but never got the chance to do Horn and Hand until recently since I did not know they were soloable. I had everything but the shoes (which I was waiting to actually have it cycle in as a reward) so if they did remove them, then bad move SE and I'll be very irritated >.>

They never said that they were going to be changing leve rewards (they should have) and as I said, it would be silly for them to have taken away the Onion Set from Faction rewards because then you would have people with incomplete sets and that doesn't make for very happy customers.

Yes I know the Onion Set really serves no purpose but it looks nice and I have the Onion Helm. I want my shoes!

Was a normal Battlecraft leve; Had to kill the big jellyfish surrounded by a few of the Justin Bieber-strength ones.

This is still very lame. Oh woot, an undyed cavas reward for 300 Horn and Hand faction points. It takes a long time to accumulate faction points. To remove these items as rewards and replace with hempen bowstrings, food, a single nugget, etc. is just plain wrong. And to 'chance' the possibility of an (unknown) item being in a chest, if the chest even shows up doesn't hack it.

In correlation with this, I've helped now on roughly 15 leve NM's and not a single drop - that's 0/15. That isn't right either.

Help, as in you just go help someone doing leve NM, or you also take the leve and link? Cause the drop will only go to whoever take the leve.

It would be, but I think that would be considered giving game hints, which is something the community reps and GMs are explicitly told not to do.

Now, if some average joe or jane figured it out and posted it here, there'd be nothin' wrong with that!

I got onion gaskins as a chest reward from a faction leve a couple days ago, so they're still obtainable at the very least. Just more difficult to get than before.

Well that sucks, so now I have to do random faction leves in hopes that I may get to complete my onion set which I could do before by choosing a particular leve before and not waste points? There was no reason to change leve rewards. Lowering gil amounts is one thing but they could have left everything else the same. I'm also tired of all this food, my sister is an R50 cul, if I want food I will go to her and support the crafter!
