Hence: "You have Wolves Den."
That's purely about PvP. You don't even have to 'roleplay', the fact it's lore based Grand Company vs Grand Company gameplay means it's a bit silly to complain about that when the alternative has been there for ages :p

You don't get it. Frontlines shouldn't be special "non-PvP" roleplay zone for Grand Companies. It is still PvP, and a larger scale PvP than Wolves Den. Some people prefer that, I honestly find large scale PvP more fun myself, having played RO for god knows how many years. Let me put it this way, if you take the grand companies out of it and make it "Team A, Team B, Team C", does it change anything? No, but it sure makes queue times a lot faster by throwing in 72 people in random groups together. It also makes fights not completely one-sided. I also would like to do frontlines because it gives massive experience and wolf marks. Win trading in PvP is not fun, and doing it the normal way is beyond slow.
My point is, this system is clearly not working. I'm not sure who they're trying to appeal to at the moment.

I can see why players are refused to leave Malestorm because this is one GC that has been dominating across all the datacentres. Do not find it strange that you have much longer waiting time than other two GCs because people do want to hop on the same winning wagon like you.
If you hate the longer que time and simply want to enjoy Frontline PvP, the Order of Twin Adders welcomes you. We are minority, but our performance is a good by consider our numbers and our que time is much shorter.
By saying that, if you want to stay on winning wagon but yet want a faster que time, dont blame on the system. The que time for full party do need to get fix, but idea of GC vs GC vs GC is fine as it is. This is an improved version of FF11 contest system.
I'm queueing as a tank and i'm part of twin adders and i still wait an average of several hours before i get in a match. Its broken like the AK queues were at launch. Even when people had a preformed party they couldnt get in a match. What the OP is showing looks an awful lot like that.
Since SE is forcing us to match up only with our grand company it would be nice if they could re-join the data centers for queueing for PVP. Let people from all servers and databases join up to fight. Don't know if its feasible of if it would even help but worth a look? I love frontlines, its all i do pretty much. I wish they queues could be like LoL and pop in under a minute.
Aether Mael seems to be pretty matched with the Flames.
If they removed the GC restrictions then que's would be fine. I mean I get that they want it lore based kinda but. Cmon, let us pvp
I don't exactly roleplay...but I AM proud to be a Twin Adder. I really DO like playing with other folks that are 'Adders' because it gives us something in common, even if it is a small thing. Also, because I'm not in the GC that everyone 'hops' to hoping for an easy-win ratio, every win I get I can be proud of my team/adders because they remained dedicated to the Adders vs. just leaving for the 'winning' side. Also, now that they made the PvP rankings public, I don't worry so much about my win:loss ratio, as well, It's within the ave rate for my team AND I pug every match...so I don't have the slightly better odds of the power of pre-made communication.
Lastly, I LIKE the adders lore/city/gears/horse better. I don't want anything else....even my alts are Adders because I just can't be anything else. Tree Hugger for life I guess.
Feels like this PVP is giving Mael a bad rep. Sure everyone is hopping for the vanity/win ratio. But some of us just like that GC. I picked it never knowing it'd be a winner. I just love the sea and pirates dammit. ;'(
The system is working fine. JP community is evenly distribued among three GCs for the frontline while EN community is not. This is why it does not seem to appeal to you, but it doesnt mean system is not working fine. I was unable to find any topic in regard to complain of que time on both JP PvP fourm and JP 2ch. This is an issue that only apply to EN community because of our own mindset. The mindset of jumping to the winning wagon is something need to be resolve within our community. You are making a false claim and assumption based on your own personal experience as a Malestorm.
The number of players that are enjoying GC vs GC vs GC is much greater than you think. JP community seems to enjoying this competition system and their Frontline participant number is greater than us according to Yoship. You need a lot more solid reference and stactic number to show your point.
My own personal experience and several others. This isn't JUST me. Again, I have been with Maelstrom since 1.0, why is it fair for me to HAVE to switch if I ever want to even ENTER frontlines? Also, we already know they favor JP players, you don't need to remind us. Don't blame people like me for "jumping ship and winning", I've only even been able to play one stupid game. If I could fix this issue, I would.
