What can the dev team do to satisfy the critics of 1.18?

Like most people have said, I disagree with you completely that these are problems in the game. I numbered them in order to make for an easier reply.

1. I feel like this has been the complaint in some topics but if you read further you will see that most of the community disagrees with your statement. As found in this topic http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...-promised-PICS you can beat Darkhold with other setups just be cause one way is more efficient or more widely used doesn’t make it wrong. You want to go in with a different setup, then look for others that want to go in with the same idea. If you can’t then the community is the one leaving out other classes not the game.

2. Yes people thought THM was healing but now its CON oh well we asked for more defined roles now we have them.

5. Of course they are on low demand, they are now for lack of a better term the WHM. Con’s are healers we wanted defined roles we got them. They heal better than any class in the game hands down, they now have a role. Are you able to build Offensive? Yes. The option is still there, will you find a party that will let you do that? Most likely not but why would you want the best healer in the game nuking when you need heals?
6. See above. (FYI this does not mean you can’t solo and be offensive see 3 for that)
7. If the Archers were upset about this patch they were just dumb. Nothing about this patch hurt ARC and they are still very balanced.

I agree it is nice that you state things in a very clear opinion with out attacking but we don’t need multiple threads from the same person about the same topic. See Mage Strike and other posts started by OP.

actually it shouldn't be about who can and who can't imo.. it just shouldn't be easyer to beat a boss only thanks to an overuse of arcs- if it's easyer using arcs than close-ranged DDs then more ppl will get arcs and just leave out the rest... obviously your solution is "it's your problem, not mine, i'm arc 50...go out and make a pt with other classes" which is cool but u can't deny how arcs tend to be OP and prefered over any other DD in nearly any game.. not letting SE know that it's happening here as well wouldn't be wise imho

No I fall into the group that likes to think outside the box. I have yet to Darkhold and I am an ARC. Though when I do go my setup will be however I choose to make it based on the people I play with, that's how it should be. Obviously your solution is "I'm a 45 MRD and can't get gear I want because nobody will invite me and I can't make a party because that's hard, then finding a way to beat the boss with party I make is harder, so lets complain about classes" (since we are making assumptions) which is cool but you can't deny that any non-range people tend to cry wolf about range people in nearly any game that makes them feel left out.

Letting SE know that people are lazy and upset because the efficient way doesn't favor the job they picked/enjoyed is wise? No. The content is there, it can be done with different setups if people leave out the rest it is the communities fault not SE's. My group currently only has MRD LNC ARC GLAD AND CON, we aren't going to say "oh shit dude you're my friend and all but you didn't level ARC/GLAD/CON so you can't go with us into darkhold." Also by your logic if I did tell my friend he couldn't go, it's SE's fault not mine. Good to know.

The dev team can do nothing right to silence the critics. So they should focus on making the happy people even happier.

People complained that the game was too easy. SE made it harder. Now people are complaining that it's too hard and they want it back the way it was.

Screw everyone who complains without detailed explanation and suggestions.

i've never said u were one that does 4xarc 2xcon 2xgla (idk where u picked that from, i simply stated that being a r50 arc u shouldn't and most likely don't care of the actual problems with pt set up), neither have i said that i'm having problems of sort or complaining about classes... that said, i wouldn't know if it's SE's fault for not thinking it out or community's for "always go the easy way", nor have i said anything about SE being the cause of this <.< but it's way more simple for them to fix the thing in later patches than to change how ppl think imo

Ithink the devs can give everyone a pot of money, that should keep critics silent for a short while. But all honesty, I'm enjoying v1.18 so far. I have high hopes for v1.19 and other future patches

The Dev team can return Leves and Behest to their former glory and reward the people that want to party grind with bonus SP via SP chains.

Sp Chains: yes.

Return Leves to how they were before: no.

Leves are solo content. They were always meant to be quickies. The huge sp boost they received was due to there being pretty much nothing else to do with parties on a regular basis.

Options are a great thing, why would you be opposed to Leves and Behest being reversed? Leves are solo content that has been damaged due to the cost of MP.

Also, don't run long distances in active mode, switch into passive mode between battles, the small regen helps. I usually use Profundity with my Dart to generate the extra TP, and I try to use it when a mob is around 20-25% so the TP attack will kill it and cool down will be back up by the time I engage the next mob.

You can check my post history, I was having one hell of a time trying to solo the first couple days of the patch, and I won't lie it is significantly harder now, but I honestly feel the current MP costs are OK. They seem wtf high because they were so low before, but once you adjust, they aren't that bad. Just make sure you're not overhealing or pulling multiple mobs. And Stygian Spikes gives you constant MP regen in combat.

The only thing I would really like to see changed for casters is a lower cool down on Dart. Archer has a short cool down for their attack, mages should have similar treatment. With a shorter cool down the people having MP issues should have an easier time because mobs die faster and more Radiance/Damnation = more MP.
