Solo players can't get proper credit for hunts

That's the mature Final Fantasy playerbase that was oh, so much better than ANY other game (to hear it told on the Alla forums).

Not even close. Hunts have fostered the OPPOSITE of a positive community. The monsters are just too weak. They need to be like 100+ times harder than they are now to warrant the rewards they give and to give EVERYONE a chance to fight them.

Just because you would like to believe everyone is lazy does not make it so. There will always be leeches in any situation, but in any Hunt group (that ever, you know, Hunts anything) there will be a large number of active folks looking around constantly for marks. The Bs respawn pretty often, so there's pretty much always something to find.

First off, the reason why these Hunt groups work is because they actively seek out marks. If everyone was as lazy as you suggest, the entire group would be sitting in town and nothing would ever be found. It's not just one or two people who are looking... It's MOST of the people.

It may make you feel better to think there is some magic hack that allows people to peer into the future across space and time in order to see exactly when/where a mark is going to spawn, but there is no such philosopher's stone. The fact of the matter is that when 100+ people sweep a zone up and down, the mark WILL be found. Marks have spawn windows they can spawn in, so yes, people can track ToD and predict when a mark will next be "open", and thus know when to hunt in which area. Leveraging this knowledge with a large group of people able to look everywhere at once due to the fact that they are a large group of people makes it pretty easy for the large groups to find and kill everything.

I imagine this is surely not what SE intended when they designed this system, but it's in no way cheating, nor is it lazy. It's lazy to call the people actively hunting lazy and/or cheaters because you have some kind of grudge against the system for not loading you up with seals for not doing anything at all.

The suggestion is to make a party AHEAD OF TIME. If you aren't actively looking for marks, you aren't going to get them very often. You can hope you randomly happen across one and further hope other people aren't looking for it, but the reality is that folks have gotten organized and look for these things in droves. They will be found. Period.

Honestly, that's your right. Go for it. But the rewards would be much better if you actively banded together with others to look for marks proactively. If you see one randomly in the field while doing other things and want it, take it. If the mob is too much for you, though, don't be surprised if they let you die as they wait for more people to show up.

I don't know if it's a lack of understanding or an unwillingness to understand, but "3rd party cheating apps" isn't the bane of Hunts, it's ORGANIZATION. Why would you even need cheats when you have 100+ people to look everywhere? Do you know what those people are doing? THEY ARE PLANNING.

You are correct I am not actively looking for marks.
You and everyone else is completely misunderstanding the complaint here.

I am doing other things, I stumble upon a mark. Great let me call my friends! Oh no they didn't make it, well I'll just attack it with the other herd here in hopes I can get something.

The complaint is, if you STUMBLE upon a fate, you can still get full credit without being in a party. If you stumble upon a monster you cannot get full credit unless no one else is there or your party/friends make it there in time.
The point is that hunts are very much like fates, but unlike fates rewards are a lot more difficult to obtain even though it's basically the same thing.


I'm not complaining that I don't have a lot of seals - because yes I am not actively going out to get these. However this kind of zerg content should not force players to "join parties ahead of time" to get credit. Nowhere in Yoshida's posts did it ever say it was going to be like that. Most mobs I have killed I ran into while gathering or doing treasure maps. Just because I don't "join a giant linkshell and plan a massive spreadsheet with lots of people" doesn't mean I don't deserve any seals for joining in the hunt. What kind of garbage system is that? People who plan ahead, and go around looking for stuff can get lots and lots of seals, that's totally cool. However if I stumble upon a mob first and others get there, I shouldn't be given 0 credit just because I'm not in a party with 8 people.

Why are you even arguing with this thread? Are you angry that someone who happens to stumble upon a mob gets their 5-10 seals while you get your 100 with your super organized group? God forbid!

No offense, but if you go about calling everyone cheaters, the meaning of what you want to say is going to get lost, since you know... People aren't cheating. They are doing the system in the most effective possible way. That's always going to happen.

And yes, I agree: The way the Hunt was implemented is absolutely awful. I was expecting it to be phased like Levequests or maps. But, until they fix it, it's going to be done as efficiently as possible because the rewards are just too good.

Well said, this is how I feel about the whole thing. I have other things I want/need to do, so it'd be nice to be able to run around knowing that I can get a reasonable amount of seals if I participate should a mark pop. Now, I have nothing against forming/joining a group since I have joined a few for over a week now, and most times it's fairly profitable at off-peak hours. It'd be nice though to participate much like one would do with Fates, and have your contribution counted similarly.

If you agree why are you arguing with me lmao! Yes the system is terrible! Those who organize and get into giant linkshells = good for you! You deserve lots of seals for sitting 8 hours a day looking for mobs. Nothing wrong with that!
We're just saying that just because we aren't as organized as you, that we shouldn't be "undeserved" to these seals. If everyone got full credit even for just 1 poke of the mob, it would make everyone be less angry and nasty to each other.
That's why they made it a lot easier to obtain fate rewards in stuff like Behemoth & Odin. I'm sincerely surprised it's taking them that long to make these kind of adjustments.

"Join a party." is by far the worst answer to the issue. How am I suppose to join a party while I'm queued up for a dungeon I need for my Animus Book? I have a 15 to 30 min wait time that I would prefer to fill with mark hunting.
