The new seek invite function

I managed to get a Toto-Rak party via the search function the other night. I do agree that the system needs a lot of work :/

It's a little over-complicated even for people who have been playing the game for a while. New players who come into the game won't have any idea.
I'll try to figure it out but.. I don't think I'll have much luck. Maybe it's just me, but it seems they worded it poorly - their explanation of how to use it.
I wish we could have an invite system like XI someday.

It also seems a little counter-intuitive to seek a party via the Recruit option, but maybe that's just me.

I don't think it's that.

A party search function is a party search function is a party search function. Having a party search feature is not being unusual or eccentric. It's not a case of being different, it's a case of not being functional.

They tried to improve the FFXI search feature but it just isn't functional the way they chose to do it. Well, it might be functional but it certainly isn't user-friendly.

The way it conveys information is so backward.

There should be a way to "search all" and then narrow down the search with different paramaters/filters. That would be the way to go. Currently you have to put in a parameter/filter first in order to begin a search. it's so retarded.

You mean totally do a 360 reverse thinking on FF11's party match system is not "being different for the sake of different?"

They went from a highly polish seek theory to an unfounded gather theory. It's no wonder it sucks. It's like a lawyer resigning his position and try playing doctor.

It's almost a completely different discipline they're trying to make work here.

Could you paraphrase this so that it actually makes sense. I don't even understand how I'm supposed to be convinced by that opinion.

I use it all the time (looking for members for Toto-rak, since it's the only thing I can see myself doing), and only found someone with it a single time.

/shouting in Uldha is still more efficient.

Please SE, just have a look at EQ 2 LFG system. It has got everything needed for FF14 (roles specification, a little note, LFM and LFG modes and a decent interface).
