Spent over $2,000 for airfare and hotel for my wife and myself but couldn't get a tic

Yup, i got my tickets this past Tuesday, NOW I'm getting hotel stuff started (driving up).

Depends a lot on the distance between you and Vegas and your standards. It's not like you have to sleep at Bellagio's. The Fanfast is only 2 nights after all.

Word, I got a room at the Holiday Inn, lol. $46 a night bundled with my flight.

How many more tickets are going to be available? You end up finding tickets to Fan Fest?

We booked our hotel in advance before getting the tickets as well. The month before the tickets went on sale, the Rio Hotels site had a 50% rooms booked for October sale. (Figured this was a sign!) Best tip is if you're going to book your hotel and travel for convention before getting the tickets is to make sure that what you book can be canceled with no penalty after the point of when the tickets go on sale so you know you're going or not. Both my husband and I are going, we were lucky enough to get 2 of the advanced sale tickets.

Trip cost:
Round-trip Travel from Midwest area to Vegas - $440
Rio Hotel for 3 nights - $470
FanFest Tickets - $240
Total - $1,150 for 2 people

Since you guys are gonna be in Vegas anyway, you may as well bum around the Rio. I mean, only the event-specific stuff will be ticket holder locked (Assumption based on prior events like SOE Fan Faire), and most of the folks who are going aren't just gonna stay cooped up in their rooms (we certainly won't!) So you'll probably still be able to see some costumes, meet some great people, moan about Coils/Hunts/Sands/Primals over drinks with other people, and maybe even see knee socks with Soken! :D

Hello, thanks for all the replies, free company to the rescue. Someone got 4 tickets during the second wave and now our whole Free Company is going (all 7 members lol).
