Well I know personally a lot of HC FC/Statics who only host two raid nights(weekly) 2-3 hours each. I really don't think you should just give up and leave. Try to find some different players to play with. I did quit for months and I came back during the PS4 release. I found a new FC and this game is a entirely different experience now. I find myself logging in to play constantly and always logging off satisfied. My advice to you do not give up until you meet some new players.
Hm, is English not your first language? Sorry to be blunt in asking this, but perhaps that may be why your point isn't coming across clearly. ^^;
It sounds like you want the perfect FC... friendly, laid back, able to clear all the endgame stuffs, AND likes having silly player run events. I'm lucky in that my FC is most of these things, but every group and server is going to have some drawbacks you may not like. ^^; You can make the best of what you find or take the initiative and make it all happen yourself.
So the way you show that you never give up when it comes to helping folks that don't know what they are doing, is to quit and come to the forums and whine about it to announce that those people are the reason you are leaving, classy.
In some ways the OP is right. The general level of skill is shockingly low in this game. To the point that finding a decent FC or LS to join (that doesn't already have its own cliques to attempt to break into) is almost as impossible as finding a decent group in Duty Finder. On Behemoth, the majority of party finder groups are almost as terrible as duty finder. It is depressing and uncontrollable. You clearly state in your description you want experienced players, but almost every group gets 1/3-1/2 full up of people who are hoping for a first clear. You see this after 10+ wipes when the achievement notification pops up when you FINALLY complete the instance. This is so prevalent that you can't even form a group doing titan/ifrit checks because you'll never fill a group. Transferring isn't an idea solution because of how much money and other things you stand to lose.
The OPs presentation of the situation was less than ideal, but it isn't without merit. There are huge community issues as a whole in both player skill and toxicity and it is contributing to people quitting. You can try teaching these people but more often then not it falls on deaf ears or just incapable players, either too stubborn or clueless to adapt. I really don't think he is calling out the community as a whole for his reason for quitting. Hes pointing out the overwhelming majority of the players hold him back. No progress leads to frustration. Frustration leads to quitting. I sympathize with him completely because I am/was there, but don't agree with his wording or attitude in conveying it.
Problem is there is no fix. There is no solution. Its luck of the draw whether you can find a group that suits your needs and makes you happy enough to keep on going. Otherwise you need to have thick skin and determination or quit.
The post is confusing. Fair enough I agree I think a lot of ppl seem to be new to mmos. They seem like they are playing a single player game not even saying Hi at the start of a dungeon (which I find really rude, I've never played an mmorpg before where ppl didn't even say "Hi" at the start)
But at the same time your post seem to be targeted at bad players. You can change that by
1. getting to know the players you think play well. I mean if you've played the game for such a long time you should've got a lot of friend online, yeah? I have played for 3 months and I have loads of friends I can contact if I need a good dps or tank.
2. Teaching the players who you consider bad. I mean if you're so good at it you should give them advice.
I know it sometimes feels like a lost cause. I've been to titan hm where the healers don't even debuff the damage down buff, even if I ask them to. But then again, go to number 1 and ask your friends to help you out
I kind understand how you feel.
I lost interest in being a guild and raid leader after my first MMO thanks to the community.
It took me 3-4 MMO's to lose interest in being a hardcore end-game player thanks to the community.
After playing all these MMO's I've lost interest in putting up with the drama. It's a pointless cost just to get digital loot. I'd rather take the long boring route and see a slight increase in gear than care about BiS. All thanks to the community.
That's clearly what i wanted to say. My native language is french so it may be the reason why you understood my post as being vindicative.
Indeed, i feel some frustration thanks to the community that i call being " bad ".
And i hope you have seen that i said i fully regret to leave this game. It's the first one that gave me so much fun after Wow. I point it out because i want you to understand that i tried hard to stay on this game.
lol Perfect examples in the replies that also transfer in game, of why some players say the community for this FF is bad. Welcome to a WoWified FF I suppose.
Well, you're welcome to come hang out with us on Atomos if you want. We have a really casual (as in 'laid back') approach to everything, including endgame. It is a JP server, so there may be some culture shock. All languages welcome. ^^
eta: I suggest making alts to check out other servers to see if they work for you. If you still don't like it, feel free to leave, no hard feelings.
