Delay the Rogue/Ninja class till expansion.

Since Doma is supposed to be Hydaelyn's version of Asia, I would have liked to have seen Ronin/Samurai be released with Ninja. SAM could be a tank.

I agree with the OP. It won't be fun having 1000 rogues running around leveling at the same time. There needs to be some balance. Hopefully they announce a tank or healer job on Thursday.

Oh it's no biggie:

1. Not EVERYONE has all classes leveled.
2. Not EVERYONE is interested in Rogue/Ninja
=Not EVERYONE will be leveling them

2. Currently Melee DD queues actually aren't that long...they are typically on par, or a wee bit slower than healer queues. The reason, there are more RANGED classes in the game than Melee. All adding this class/job does is make Melee queues more inline with Ranged Queues (which will probably speed up a bit since as you say, there will be a fair amount of folk leveling Rogue/Ninja)

-The DF doesn't actually just do
-Tank
-Healer
-2 random DD's

It actually tries to get
-Tank
-Healer
-Melee DD
-Ranged DD
Now, yes if queues are Ranged heavy (which they are a lot atm) sure you'll see Bardx2 or if they are Melee Heavy Drg/Mnk in same group. But this is actually not common.

In 8 man content, the game even tries to give you 'no doubles' Meaning it tries to make sure you only have one of each specific job...although again, this is dependant on balanced queues.

-Currently, the DPS queues are NOT balanced (2 Melee vs. 3 Ranged)
-So by adding this class, it'll make the wait times for ranged (which have been long) better.

3. There is currently plenty of reasons why tanks/healers and ranged folk would like to level-sync dungeons....and this desire isn't going away anytime soon.
-Atmus Books
-DR Myth bonuses
-Leveling
-Glamour Gears
-Hell even spiritbonding

4. They allow you to queue for a dungeon however you please if you pre-make the group. At least for low-level dungeons I see little reason why you couldn't do them 4x Rogue w/ cross-class skills that help w/ healing or for safety 3x Rogue w/ Healer friend.

5. There is a chance (albeit small) that level cap will rise around this patch....this will cause LOTS of people to want to level LOTS of jobs....even if just for 5-10 levels.

6. Leves and FATES still exist and still give viable exp....and you can do them while you wait on a queue

I like to think the developers at FFXIV have their heads on straight. They have impressed me so far and made some great choices to balance the game. I don't think they'd add a DD if they thought it would break the game. It's still at least 4 months away. Wait for them to actually announce they aren't making any other changes besides adding a new DD before you ask them to fix their yet to be made mistakes.

Everyone running around leveling Arcanist wasn't the end of the world. Everyone running around leveling Rouge wont be either.

Why take it down, only because OP is stating his opinion? People are not allowed to have freedom of speech? Also, no need to be rude to him if you don't agree with his point of view. He's also stating arguments behind his reasoning, instead of going "bla bla blah! Do it because I want to even though I have no arguments to back up my reasoning, do it now SE or I quit!!111 ", now that's crying. :P

While the petition is formal and I do understand the reasoning, I don't think SE will delay it, to be honest. Since many people will get pissed, they wanna play it asap lol. But who knows. :)

Oh right. because if the new class was a Tank instead, we'd be right back here on the forums complaining abut TANK queue times because the queues are saturated with them. For the same reason. Jeez, some people can be rather dense.

This. Tbh the amount of rogues/Nins is going to be crazy at the beginning, but people are eventually going to drop it due to the mechanics not being in their wheelhouse or because they would rather continue gearing their current class since 2.4 will most likely bring about an ilvl change and new content. The prospect of redoing animus/novus is also going to break people.
