duty finder isn't there for you to spirit bond

I'm not sure how I feel about SBing. If i see it in the group, I ask whats going on there. Usually they change. If not well, I continue on, and finish the run. I think its a little disrespectful to expect the rest of the group to carry you. Your profiteering off your fellow players good will(and good gear). Obviously a nooby player has no choice, so I don't mind helping carry them through content(I was them once). But when I see SBing going on, I just can't help but think, wouldn't it be much faster to go SB in Urth's Gift, or DD? I can understand knocking out 2 birds with one stone. But your asking people to carry you while you do it. You might be able to do your job ok. But you clearly could be doing your job better with the appropriate stats. I wonder how the run would go if everyone had the opportunity to switch to SB gear before joining DF. I bet that would be a fun run. Maybe they need a option on the DF UI, that you can check SBing. That way you guys can join like minded people. Obviously you could accomplish this with PF, but oh lordy lordy, I can't force players to help me make gil,earn my roulette bonus and make it a moderately decent speed run. Clearly if your gonna PF for SB, you mid-as-well do it outside, sense its much more efficient. Hey man if you want to give me a cut of your earnings from that materia, I wouldn't mind helping you out. It's no fun to have to help someone and get nothing but lost time out of it. When its a tank or healer, just think, the DDs that are in your group, aren't just going to be spending extra time helping you out. They just got done spending extra time, waiting for a DF spot.

I went into CT as an iLVL 59 WAR yesterday to spirit bond a set of cobalt and HQ accessories with 2 i80 pieces (belt/legs) with a i90 weap.

Someone said, "Why are you trying to spirit bond in CT?!"
To which I replied, "I'm not trying, I'm doing."

I continued to main tank everything but King Behemoth (did giants) and my 3400 HP WHM and 3700 HP SCH didn't have any issues keeping me up. Because we didn't suck and didn't need i90 gear to do an i60 dungeon.

@OP - I can wear whatever gear I want to as long as I am following the spirit of the iLVL requirements. What is not cool is someone wearing a full set of i49 crafting gear in a dungeon lol. As long as the gear you are spirit binding is of the appropriate stats for your job and you meet the iLVL requirement, everything should be copacetic.

All they need to do is make crafting/gathering gear not count for battle ilvl, same for crafting, same for gathering (while crafting and gathering may not have anything that looks at ilvl yet, it may come eventually)

If you meet the ilvl with those counting as having nothing in that slot, which is essentially what your doing, I've got no problem with it

if i see people do this, i simply stop what im doing, if the person who by INTENT is going in unoptimally in a run, while i am, i dont think its fair on me, i will resume what im doing once the person has put on their full set of gear.
if they want to profit off me, wont happen.

Good for you, you actually try and make an effort to not be a complete tool. So far in my experience you're one of a kind. I'm assuming you only read the first post, but if you read further you'll see while I still think it's annoying as fuck and you should be doing it on your own damn time and not gettign richer off me carrying your gimped self SBing a couple pieces that are actually meant for you isn't a terrible problem or anything someone can get in trouble for. Sadly in at least my experience so far no one uses proper gear and instead just grabs something that is the appropriate level for the materia they want.

I posted it back on like page 2 or 3, but I got a tank in Halatali HM who was using just enough real gear to reach 55 and then had everything else white gear that was for DPS classes. He gimped himself so hard with this gear he couldn't even take a couple hits from trash mobs and I ended up being a better tank as a monk. I also just had a monk who was again just at the requirement and instead of using lower level dps gear like you wore tanking gear for your tank they were in all grafting gear with GP and CP as the stats.

Again while it's annoying as fuck and I think you're being and selfish lazy making everyone else work harder because you want to bind in a dungeon it's not reportable or a "problem" the reportable stuff comes when you have tanks in DPS gear and you have dps and healers in crafting gear. i'm sure your group was a little annoyed, but at least you finished it without giving them too much trouble. Most people just equip whatever and dont care

A. Work harder? What? Spend an extra 2 minutes in a dungeon? Hit Physick 3 more times? What do you mean? Are you saying you just spam Bootshine over and over if you are ina dungeon with all i95s, and you only use rotations and max dps when someone has bad gear? (I'm using hyperbole, please understand). My point is that no one has to "work harder," it make take an extra couple of minutes, but it shouldn't require any extra effort.

What does me being i59 matter if I can handle doing my job? Even if I am dps it will decrease my dps by some amount that may lengthen a boss fight by...I dunno, 120 seconds at the very most?

If the game says that having gear of XX iLVL is sufficient to complete the dungeon, and then you tell me I am lazy and selfish because I am wearing sufficient gear instead of using way way overpowered gear for the dungeon, I think you are wrong.

You are perceiving people to be leeching off of you because you are being a sheep and wearing super overpowered gear in dungeons that don't need it. While the people who are good players and want to make money are wearing appropriate gear of lower iLVL and still performing their jobs. I would argue that your priorities are backwards in your OP and a couple other additional posts, in that if you want a Halatali HM run with i90+ speed, you should go to PF. You should only expect from DF that everyone is going to be wearing the lowest possible gear.

Again, I agree people wearing crafting gear into dungeons is bull and that is something that should be fixed. But puh-lease, I am not lazy nor selfish for following the rules of the game. I didn't join DF and check the "easy mode overgeared" button.

I buy i55 gear-appropriate accessories all the time for my WAR, BLM, SCH, WHM, and DRG While doing roulettes. I keep my main pieces on me, which puts me over i75+. I still out-DPS 90% of the DPS you'll get in roulette, and my tanking skill is without question above-average. Healing is kind of a joke because Eos just takes care of it with most pulls unless it's a speed run =p

The only thing I wouldn't agree with is if someone entered as i90, then switched to a full i50 set that had nothing to do with their stats, or likewise switched to a set that was weaker in ilevel than the minimum requirement. I would have issue with that, only by virtue of the fact that they are gaming the system.

You're lazy and selfish because you're choosing to put in the absolute bare minimum effort required for personal gain at the expense of three other people plus. At work I only have to do X amount of work but do Y because I'm capable of doing so and don't want to give my team extra work, j just like you're capable of wearing your real gear and making the run go smoother.

You say it only adds two minutes to a fight well there are at least three bosses a dungeon so that's an extra six minutes and hey you can't pull as many trash mobs st once so let's add another 4 minutes to the run. Congratulations we just made it take 50% longer than it needed to because you wanted to do the bare minimum for personal gain. I don't have a problem working with undergeared people I have a problem carrying someone who has better options and tools but refuses to use them

IMHO if you are spirit bonding stuff in DF limit it to the off pieces of armor ( earings bracelets rings necklaces ) And keep Main Stat Armor and weapons in the rest of the slots. If you're wearing a full set of Spirit Bonding Gear then it needs to ALL be main stat for your class. If a Monk is wearing Int/Mind gear to Spirit Bond then yeah that's abusive. Don't be a dick when spirit bonding and I wont care.
