OP There's what u need to do in order to clear T5 (and other smilar content like primals)
1 - DF/PF t5 learning 1st phase (pull phase) and 2nd phase (conflag)
2 - PF p3 Diveboms/snake (PF: T5 semi - learning , know up to snakes , no conflag bs) something like that
3 - PF p4 Twister & till end (PF: T5 know to Twister or higher , no divebomb/conflag or other bs pls)
4 - PF win (only when u feel u dont get killed by mechanics by ur fault) PF: T5 Exp only (2 strike rule) can't dive - dont waste my time
and Voila u got ur win in 2 weeks of hard practice , this even and only way to play & win content if you "solo" player .

As the above poster stated you need to learn all the phases properly before you can get a kill. Most if not everyone will take longer than 90 minutes (DF time duration) to learn those mechanics. If you get people who haven't cleared or have not yet learned Phase 4 in your group... You likely won't clear it in 90 mins. Every 90 mins you get a completely new group and will have a high likelihood of having at least a couple people with little to no experience... Which means you are starting from square 1 again. Which is why DF on difficult content that takes time to learn is not appealing.
The only way SE would make it appealing to DF is by changing the mechanics of T5 to the point where a group of new players to the content can learn it in a few attempts and be successful. The Echo + ease of i90 gear does this for turns 1-4 but not T5 (or Titan EX the other brick wall commonly Mentioned).

more echo will not help you kill t5 at this point. people can either do the mechanics and down it, or they can't.

I guess the only real issue with DF'ing T5 is that, you are only getting that 90minutes. Since everyone else is on different servers most likely, what if you actually do great at the fight with this group, you all really click, but need maybe just one more pull? The timer runs out and, boom, you will never see those people again. You queue again and get some people that could care less about the fight and expect you to carry them... so depressing lol
It's really always a potluck with duty finder. There are good players that join that way and also people that don't really care about playing well or even being considerate to other players.
At least with party finder, you can remove people/replace as well as give things a second go if get a good group.

Echo wont save you from getting know into the wall by Drive bomb and get 1 shot. Or repel Shot/backflip into the wall. LOL (make me laugh every time I saw DRG or BRD doing that.) xD
-
Echo doesn't compensate for incompetence. You can have over 10k hp but you still won't survive twisters, conflags or divebombs into the wall.
@OP: sounds like you're stuck until you find that one magic pf group or a static.

It's usual for dps...
but I think now players prefer to form a party to DF the Whorleater.

I filled a party in PF with "learning group, experienced payers who would like to help are welcome" in the description for T5 in about 15 mins. Had a tank and a healer that were very vocal about helping, and when we did finally beat it on our sixth try, I was the only one who got the achievement, so everyone who joined me was just there to help or for the loot. Nice people exist. You see a lot of people maligning the community here on the forums, but a lot of people DO help others out of the goodness or their hearts if you give them the chance to. Fortune favors those who help themselves. Those who don't get to sit in DF for two hours and probably get a rage quitter who will leave after the first wipe and still not get their win, then bemoan the state of the game on the official forums. If you don't want to sit around for hours in duty finder, make your own party. Sure, you'll probably fail a few times. But if you don't eventually clear it, you'll have experience enough to join a group that asks for experienced players only. There's nothing stopping you from doing this but you, yourself. Not everything gets handed to you in life. Sometimes you have to reach out and grab it yourself. Sometimes you actually have to work toward something, and get your experience the hard way. I prefer solo play when possible too, but guess what man, this is an MMO. You can't solo everything in it. There are things that take a dedicated and knowledgeable group to clear. Expecting everything to be soloable is unrealistic. And as to your comment about why is it even on DF at all? Well, uh, guess what... until a month or so ago, it WASN'T on DF. All the way through and past the second patch that we just got it was premade parties only. It was only a recent thing that you could queue up for it solo. If you're expecting to progress into endgame events in an MMO, you're going to have to, you know, play with other people. There are plenty of other things to do if you'd rather remain a solo player. You shouldn't expect to clear everything using the duty finder, because, in reality, that's just not going to happen. It's not a problem with the game. It's a problem with your attitude. If you want something done, put together a group and go do it. Get experience doing that until you get good enough to clear. That's kind of what party content in MMOs is all about. And those are kind of the key words here "PARTY CONTENT".

I am the same, I managed to finish the first, have yet to start the second. I use exclusively DF, is a pain, done a 300x Titan HM to be able to finish it in DF; and even then it was a close call as half of the group died me included. I never passed Garuda EX, made it on first try on Ultima Arma and Leviathan, made on first try at King Moogle, have yet to to finish other things. I know I wont be able to finish stuff with DF, but I still prefer to go through the waiting list, do it a million times, learn from those mistakes, find a good group, maybe, then build a PF or join one (though it would mean that I am a pro since PF mostly requires pro people and I am not), the content may not be meant for solo but mentality of players pushes a certain category of players to play alone even if they are part of a LS or a FC. I relate to OP alot.
