I sincerely believe that Naoki Yoshida is the producer of this game.
I sincerely believe that Tanaka is the game designer of this game.
I sincerely believe that most forum users here think that producers are game designers.

I think you are confused.

Yoshi-P is both the head developer and the producer.
Tanaka was never the developer, only the producer.

Tanaka is the game designer of this game after the staff re-suffle.

Honestly I think this Tanaka Vs. Yoshi meme is getting really silly. We're all still playing Tanaka's game no matter which way you look at it so there really isn't any battle between the 2.

I've worked with several game producers and they don't do game design. They usually gauge the market and have good suggestions on what might sell but usually they don't have that much to do with the actual design of the game. There's a lot of timetable-work and budget planning that falls on the producer's shoulders which is a lot of work especially in bigger companies. Thinking that they also do the job of a game designer when there is one (Tanaka) working on that area full-time already is a bit silly.

I'm sorry for a new post sometimes when I try to edit my previous posts I end up replying to myself uh-oh.

Anyway no hero worship lets wish the whole team good luck in turning this massive ship around to better waters.


Anyway this all is a bit pointless since making a good game or even a mediocre one is a massive team effort and worshipping the producer of the project is belittling the work of others IMO.
What I do appreciate is the direction the game design of this game is going towards. It reminds me of Tanaka's past work on IX and XI that had similar elements of free jobs and emphasis on traveling.

I was a little bit weirded out about how everyone wanted to bang Rukkirii after seeing her pic, now this..... come on fellas....
