Impossible to complete books solo?

Four Winds is about the only Fate that can't be soloed in the game (well, there are a few others to be fair, but so far none of those have come up for book fates). I had to do it for my last book. Solution, ask around in my linkshells for help and shout chat too. Ended up getting about 4-5 other people coming to help and got it done. It pays to have friends.

Four Winds is a Fate i can't understand, even if i did it as Monk and stoneskin from bosses was not an issue (first time i had to use One Lim punch xD). Even if all others fates you can do them solo, this fate needs around 3-4 players to beat it, and sometimes really close to the 0:00 timer...

Other thing i can't understand is... i think there is one fate from coerthas which has a 30 minutes timer... why Four Winds is 15 minutes then?

the 30 min one is prolly the "big boss/minion", all fates in all zones are 15 min except the minion ones

I had the same issue with "In Spite Of It" as a tank simply due to the level cap which meant I would run out of time trying to manage the boss and adds. Thankfully I did a dungeon and people were there the next time it popped.

I completely agree with you. I shouted for some assistance with a few fates and have always received help. There are some great people playing this game. Unfortunately we seem to remember the vocal minority.

I just made a party finder group for it. It took all of 17 seconds to set it up. Filled in with a few people within a few mins, we all went out to wait for the fate to pop, a few more joined, fate popped, think we had 7 when it did, and steamrolled it. Just put that you're doing a specific Fate for a book, and that you're going to stand around waiting until it pops and you finish it. Barring that, try in prime time when there's more people online to hear your shouts for help, grab some FC/LS members. Also, about the difficulty scaling, if you fail it solo the first time, and manage to get a friend or two the second time, it should be easy enough for 2 or 3 to finish the second time around. If at first you don't succeed, yada, yada, yada. There are many ways to get things done. You just have to go out and find them sometimes.

The Taste of Fear This one gave me a lot of problems on WAR book 7/Speed +2. I've had no problems wittling away the hp of any boss fate until I got this one. I chewed on it for 8 minutes, and its a 15 min fate. I got it to around 60% at that point, and was starting to run low on TP. I also had a lv 7 whm choco with me. I started seeing if any FC/LS people was available. Some said they could come, but right at that moment a monk and his choco showed up, and it went down pretty quick. There is a possibility this fate was buffed from a steam roller that came through before me, but idk. It's the only boss fate that I felt I couldn't do, besides four winds obviously. Maybe instead of making the fates easier, SE could just make the timer extend, if someone is actually attempting to complete the fate. Obviously they would have to create some pretty elaborate code for that, sense you don't want a fate stuck just because someone happened to run through it.

Also I have noticed, that some fates, when you fail them, will repop a few minutes later. Is there any info on how this system works? It happened to me on the fate, Air Supply. It popped, I was distracted, and tried to beat it in 5 mins and I failed. I went to do something else, and not 3 mins later I heard the fate jingle in another room and was like O_O ummm. So I assumed maybe there was a reset process for failed fates. However my fiancee was late to the fate Make It Rain. Got Gold, failed, and it still took over a hour for it to pop. So I don't know what to think.

you need to run dungeons so... no, you cannot complete the books solo. it is impossible.
