So exactly what are all these people doing at Revenants Toll ??

Maybe players are hanging out there to farm clusters...LOL
I just tele in and tele out after I make my Soldiery purchase...who knows.

Since playing on PS4 I know how crowded this place really is (huge difference to PS3) and I do not like over crowded places too much so I just go there to do my business (ATMA book, tomes, master receipies and whatever else) and leave asap lol. All these shouting people there give me a headache and those who still think it is funny to spam their abilities with most annoying sounds 24/7. Glad people enjoy it, for me it is an absolute no go just like a huge mall or shopping center lol.

Mor Dhona was the place to be early 2.0 before DF.
Then slowly Wineport was starting to compete with it due to Coil, but then DF and new Coil happened so Wineport became forgotten again.
Now Fallgourd is pretty busy too, but not yet everyone's doing 2nd Coil.
And since people started to realize how convenient Limsa Aether Plaza is right besides the market board it became really hot too.

But yeah, only thing really missing in Mor Dhonna from being the main gathering point for everyone is a market board at this point.

Every mmo has a hang out spot. Hang out spots are convenient places. Right now its split between mor dhona and Limsa. They are still working on Mor Dhona, so im going to guess there will be an inn and market placed there. Its gonna get super laggy there.

Not really relevant to the thread itself, but on my server in WoW, Ironforge was the main hub for alliance pre BC. (nicknamed Lagforge)
For BC on all servers it was Shattrath.

Standing around dancing in my experience. I tend to stay away from there just because the sheer amount of people standing around makes the game run slow.
