2.0 coming up on first birthday -- DPS queue issue still not addressed.

add more class of tank will solve nothing, why? because people want to feel powerfull... a tank is not powerfull he is sturdy.
player want big number on the screen.
you can try whatever you want, only people that like play tank will play it. add different type of tank will not change this.

and since soo many people play DD... don't expect them to find a solution, it's impossible.

Maybe on your server at your time of the day. Fact is, people are waiting these times for parties and it's detracting from their enjoyment of the game.

Making sweeping generalisations based on your limited experience is frankly patronising and insulting to those other players.

Having 1-49 contents that can work without tank and healer won't solve a thing either. You'll get a truck full of lvl50 DPS who don't know how party dynamics work that will still complain that they have to wait for endgames.

You can do the pre-50 dungeons with non-standard party combinations, I've gone as far as Darkhold with a dragoon doing the tanking, though we did need a proper healer to pull that off. It's just that you need, y'know, friends . . . and probably taking some time pre-fight to coordinate strategy.

The trinity exists partially to mitigate having to take the time to get to know other people and their play-styles because you all get dropped into the fight together with clear-cut pre-established expectations of what everyone will be doing.

a few things that would be nice on this issue the first would be better defense cooldowns for dps to help take some stress off healers so when theres a screw up or just aton of incoming dmg we can help take some strain off and healers wouldnt feel like they r gonna have a stroke which would inturn have more ppl feel comfortable healing. the second is in wow they have scenarios small tank and healer optional but not required events that award a small amount of points and some loot would allow some progress with out a 30-40 minuet que they dont have to be made to last aslong as dungeons

Seeing as how queues are cross-server; I don't think it has any thing to do with my server.

Also, I play when the server is mostly dead, early in the morning.

I'm not generalizing, just telling the truth of the situation. Queues aren't that bad, any thing beyond 10-15 minutes is pure fantasy.

I hesitate to play my tank, I am not good, mostly because to train or get some tips is hard, people just insult you if you are not good, or god forbid, you want to learn, learning curves happen with mistakes, and more mistakes, if people had more understanding that tnaks arent gods, and those that believe they are tanks and are god should learn the word humility, once everybody understands that nobody is perfect that some need time and more time to learn, then maybe people would feel more comfortable tanking or whatever else....

Rakashu, Cross server means more dps queuing for same amount of dungeons....therefore the problem is multiplied and not divided.


For time limit, my scholar/whm 1mn, my blm 1h when I am lucky...

I thought they were going to address the queue times for DPS with the mount reward for tanks, but seeing as it became only for coil and extreme primals the issue wasn't solved for the rest of the duty finder.

Ps4 players , ps3 to ps4 players that want to try the game again , and even new pc players that wanted to start playing with Ps4 friends

OT:

Party composition in FFXIV for DF is 1 tank 1 healer 2 dps / 2 tank 2 healers 4dps

if 80% of the data center is playing dps in DF guess whats is going to happen? :P

SE cant create tank players from thin air (yet)

Ppl drive tank players away , some quit , some reroll healer/dps (and who can blame them , have u seen some DF/PF for extremes or coil?. i feel sorry for tanks trying to learn the encounters :( )
