My static always had the OT get everything in P6. Minus the 2nd dread. Every group has minor differences in how they approach T4 so I don't PUG it for that reason. They key for this approach though is to have the healers stack on the OT during the transition since half the mobs are going to auto run for them.
In those transitions the healers really should be making it easy by stacking up next to you then moving out right after you flash or whatever. I would say your PUG's issues were overall coordination and the healers didn't realize they are as much responsible for a smooth transition as the tanks. (I'm a healer so that's my perspective on the fight)
We did this in our T4 static mainly b/c our healers were very under geared at the time. Now it wouldn't matter but we've moved past the content anyway at this point.

I've successfully OT this as PLD several times now. Usually I MT it.
There are two things that always cause wipes: the group is in different spots for P5 & P6 (not grouped) or they want to stick the OT with the adds that they didn't kill on P5 & all the new adds, while just focusing on the old dread. Sometimes they also wanted me to take the new dread, too.
If you're a PLD you can pop cover at start of P6 on the WHM or or main healer to help, but hey should just group to make it easier (even if you are a WAR).

This sounds like typical just make the tank do it and no one work with the tank.
I can't speak to your specific skill level but if things are not working out they should try to have the healer move to you so you can grab them easier without trailing them all over the map anyways.
Crappy groups conform, the best groups adapt.

Hahaha I'm stuck in the same spots, I won't do t5 or Titan ex. They've beaten me down for so long I scared to try them, haven't even looked lol. Funny you can die as tank and the whole team blames you instead of rallying to help the weak link and even if not the weak link, the link that's doing the most for the team
-
They always get mad about aggro and they never even switch to help lol bad groups are full of ****ies
-
You can easily grab them all if the group cooperates, but healers honestly have no awareness of the fight/arena at all most of the time and love to stand 30 yds from eachother in a perfectly triangulated formation to screw over the tank when adds spawn

Wait, if OT isn't taking the rook, then who's been holding the rook's aggro all this time I'm farming t4 as healer? O.o

Just ran a dungeon for atma book and here's why I hate tanking. So right off the bat healer pulls aggro and I figure ok let's go. Go another mob and he's trying to dictate the fight. So I move the mob and they make snide comments. So I pull a medium mob and heals let's us wipe. Finally get past first boss and healer again pulls but this time tells me to wait. On a two mob from across the dungeon. We already waited for dude to get coffe. So I go and we kill a 5 mob, they got snide comments. Next mob since they're sissies, 2 mob. Wipe. 3 mob wipe. Finally I forget defiance after like 5 wipes and they talk shit so I don't put on defiance and pull 9 mob. Hit my convo with a 600 Gil potion and survive. More trash talking. They're waiting for a new tank right now, bashed me for my glamoured gear when I was obviously highest level. One bad dungeon can just ruin any rhythm you have

Why are all of these terrible strats being used? You are making it way harder than it has to be. Double dread is dumb.

Haven't been to T4 in a little while since patch, so sorry if I forget anything.
In my static, brd or a dragoon pulls the rook(s) in every phase, and I (OT WAR) pull everything else including spiders (except for the 1st dread's spiders; those we feed.) I make sure to go easy on the CDs so I have em all for Phase 6.
So Phase 6 begins, DPS pulls the rook, I pull the bug(s) first so they don't get eaten, overpower anything that's making a beeline for the healers, and proceed to kite everything and its mother until the first dreadnought is dead. If the dreads and MT are 2 o clock, then I kite from 5 o clock, all the way around the edge of the arena rotating CDs as I go, change directions at 11 o clock (perfect spot to overpower as they line up chasing you), and kite all the way back to 2 o clock. By then, or after another round of kiting, a dread should be dead, so I stop, let caster LB, holmgang if necessary, kill the last bug, then go help kill last dread.
