You want to have one foot in the game and one foot out? To not play for 35 freaking days and still want to remain valid in a FC that you are "leading?" For one, who would make a solo FC any way? If you want that kind of interaction (-less) gameplay then maybe no mmos are good for you. Not saying gtfo, but maybe something like Borderlands or Diablo are more your thing. I mean i like those games. And there is no one to "lead" and the game pretty much revolves around you as the player.

Free Companies were never designed to be for a single person. It's not a personal bank to store things in. It's not a one-man house to show off. It's not a daily self-buff device. Yes, it can certainly be used that way and there's nothing wrong with that. However, this update improves the quality of life for Free Companies that are using FC's correctly. Your "solo FC" lifestyle choice is fine but that doesn't mean you can demand SE to support your choice by making sure the systems they implement don't inconvenience your way of playing.

You're afraid of losing all of your "personal" property when it's supposed to be "group" oriented content to begin with.

I have a solo FC, too. I don't think it'll be so bad subscribing and logging in every other month as opposed to just one month after each major update, but I'll have to see.

You really should be fine. It only passes to other people if there are other people to pass to (and only after you've been inactive for 35 consecutive days.. over a month), and even then it's going to pass to the highest rank with the most seniority, as someone in this thread mentioned. The OP just seems to have a very unique position where he/she has a solo FC but has invited others to it that he/she doesn't seem to trust, which in all reality.. probably isn't fair to those in his/her FC who may actually want the FC for group purposes.

you could have it like eve then, if your guild dosent like you thay can vote in someone they do like. it only takes 24h. stop crying.

All those saying this is wrong are short sighted and I totally agree with the OP. IF after 35 days your guild leader does not log in then **you should be able to apply to have the Leadership given to next person in line**, it should NOT be an automatic thing.

Simple solution:

Set a monthly reminder on your phone/computer.
When it goes off....log in. jump. /wave at a Mi'qote. Log out.
Done.

If you cannot due to a lapse of Subscription then tough cookies. You abandoned the Free Company, and Final Fantasy XIV, and it now belongs to those still online and actively using it.

35 days is too low. Many internet related things go by 90. 90 days of inactivity and something expires.

This is why in the FC I'm part of, there's three co leaders (myself and two of the leader's friends). So, if she's out on vacay us three take over the FC until she gets back. Have you promoted your close friend to share your responsibilities?
