I feel this. I work in digital media. My boss was telling me a story where he basically took the physical composite hardware and threw it in the trash. It essentially did in the 90s what Adobe After Effects does now. At the time, it cost over $120,000. Thats like throwing away an entire house. But thats just the way it is.

Useless as in its not the top any more. It's just throw away gear (Even though all gear until you reach the highest level the game is going to go is throw away gear) use it to get the next best set and then don't use it again.

You are not forced to do the enrage strat, you know?

Our FC, for one, continues to do it the "proper" way even if it's more complicated.

Same thing, even if as a matter of fact the proper way is faster than the enrage way.

Still, even when Coil will be in PF there's nothing forcing you to do enrage strat if you don't want to do it. Just quit your party and find another.

Even if the enrage strat was faster tho, I still see no reason to necessarily do things the FASTEST WAY POSSIBLE AT ALL COSTS. I only see reason to do things the FUN way.

The current content may be short for people who race through it in order to compete against strangers from the Internet, but I hardly believe SE or any other company should tailor the game around these kind of players. First, they're the minority. Secondly, catering to their interests encourages a playstyle that considers the "destination" more important than the "journey".

And tbh, no matter how fast the developers work, there is ALWAYS going to be a fraction of the playerbase who eats through content faster than it is created. It's pretty much a MMO rule.

Vertical progression gives endgame heavy players something to look forward to while less intense players eventually get some progression. This is a really good move on the developers' part to prevent things like WoW's 40 man Naxxramas being visited by about 3% of all people who played the game. Vertical progression makes it a waste, now...if it was horizontal, the game becomes filled with relevant content and not a game that lives patch to patch while trashing (making old content obsolete) during the process (honestly i find that more of a waste)

like GW2? it has much much much more temporary content then XIV

I want a game filled with dungeons & storylines that can be done a year later & still be relevant, I want a game to ADD content, not take it away during a EXPANSION or make it irrelevant in a single patch
