Edit: sorry I slightly misunderstood the question.. I don't think it's that hard to figure out, though. All the drops are random, right? If there were only 4 pieces of loot you would have a 25% chance for one of them, no? May not be good enough for the math gurus on here but it's good enough for me lol

In retrospect, I suppose that's not exactly right. A couple things I'm not sure of are: does each chest have the option of dropping all pieces? If each chest had only half of the loot the 5 to 6% would change to 10 to 12% . Also I'm not sure, but would assume, that a particular piece can't drop twice, this would slightly increased odds of the second chest dropping the desired loot

How do you know every item has the same drop rate, thus 100%/17 or 100%/18? What is the source that you're quoting on?

Well, you know, if I am a vicious devs, I could definitely make an Item A drop rate 1.647485 or 2.868363 or triple times of Item B.
Again, I am asking what is the source you're quoting on again?
