Software Token for WP8

Sorry Windows phone users, but we have no plans of releasing a software token for that platform at this time.

Because it is what it is. I dont oppose anything. If SE wants to make the app for every phone OS available thats up to them. However for whatever reason they decided it was only worth developing for Android and Apple yet made the physical key as an alternate option for those that dont. Not only is having the extra security free and optional, but they offer options on how to use it. Despite what these "programmers" in this thread say there are likely other resources and costs associated with supported other platforms as well. Not to mention how I suspect theyre likely wrong, if something was so easy to port its probably not a very secure or unhackable program.

As for the token, it is a small device that can be attached to your keys (another thing youre likely to carry around everywhere) and weighs much less than a smartphone. You can always leave your token near your computer as well, its not like youre likely to play FFXIV everywhere you go.

Yeah but now you have to carry around this FOB on your keychain letting everyone know you are a giant nerd any time to take out your keys. Some of us like to remain in the closet...

Very disappointing.

It is not hard to have this app and shows a lack of commitment to protect our accounts. KeyFobs are not an acceptable alternative.

SE responded to THIS thread?! Now I'm tempted to bump up my thread about Mac support again and hope for the same luck, on a far more important luxury item. :)

I see declining sales shares for Blackberry and iOS and increasing sales shares for Android and Windows...

I'm a bit baffled as to why people would be actively against SE expanding access to account security features. This would be a win on all sides except account hackers...

His point was that Windows Phone users are a very small part of the market, and it's likely not worth the cost to make it for the system at this time.

Bayohne, I know you're busy but I'm a Windows Phone Developer and I'd gladly develop the app for free. If there is someone I can talk to at SE regarding this please let me know :)
