Melee get outdps'd by range in Titan EX? Yes, you just always in pt where melee is terrible.
Even in Garuda EX, melee can outdamage everyone, Ifrit EX is just about the same. I don't see any content atm where a melee will get outdps'd by range. Though Summoner is arguably better at some encounters due to how their pet works.
I main Monk, but my second is Black Mage. My monk is geared much better, sure, but all the same melee feels easier to me. I do more damage and have more mobility. BRD is probably a different story, but casters do absolutely no damage (or healing) if they have to move at all. With Monk I probably miss a few attacks over the course of a fight due to dodging, but a lot of the time it's just attack > move out of the way > attack with no downtime since everything is instant and you're waiting on the GCD anyway. With BLM it's a bunch of interrupting casts and spamming scathe while running to at least do some damage, nevermind losing line of sight if something moves past you. BLM does nice high numbers, but I know I do better damage of MNK through speed and more consistent uptime. It's already balanced pretty nicely. Melee may have to dodge more often, but at almost no cost to their DPS, while ranged dodge perhaps a little less often, but are nearly useless while moving (except BRD).
Actually, why are people so insistent that melees will always out DPS ranged in Primal EX?
IDK. To me it can be situational. I've been invited to this LS of skilled players and we have been clearing EMs without a static for weeks, one shotting them. We sold runs together, we did solo heals and what not. These players are definitely skilled and know their stuff. But as a BRD there are times that I could outdo a melee, albiet not a large margin.
I will just say, 230 to 180 from my last Titan EX run as Brd and Drg was the melee guy.
DPS?

undeniably, Melee have it harder than range. No argument there, those melee DPS who said otherwise wither did not played a range DPS before or just wanted more attention to their epeen.
The catch is, if you do it correctly, you can out DPS a range in most cases and are more challenging to play with. Melee is all about rotation and perfect execution of your rotation even when obstacles arise.
Who wants to play a boring range DPS when you can play a 24 move set Melee DPS XD
